I'm sure this question has already been asked here somewhere, I'm just to lazy to look it up.

How do you know you're not searching the same boxes, rolls, bags, of "coins" over-and-over again? Wherever you're dumping your searched coins, they're eventually being picked-up and taken to Loomis or wherever and re-wrapped for circulation.

facetious, grime5,

Agreed. Just needed a reality check on how others might be doing it. That would be a lot of black dots or marking each coin with a permanent marker. I could see Carpal Tunnel Syndrome setting in fast! I can see the hardcore searchers here traveling far and wide looking for those un-searched boxes and rolls.

As soon as I (or you) start seeing these things popping up, it's time for a new strategy.

Did you spray paint those? Or are you sharing what someone else did.
IMO marking coins is one thing, but spray painting is seriously damaging the coins.
It will probably also catch negative attention wherever your dump location is.

My dump bank sends their coins to the Federal reserve. I edge marked some coins in early Feb. I found three of those coins in this last weeks(4 box) hunt. Those bags probably go to Memphis and get mixed with other bags from other areas then get wrapped and distributed as order

Yes. Not just spray paint, enamel spray paint.

Seriously damaging what? Junk circulated clad coins?

No it won't. They are dumped into a counting machine and no one sees them. And even if it did attract negative attention; so what, what are they going to do about it?...nothing.
