arby, is there a way for you to receive coins from a different coin courier? In my town, if I receive a box of halves from Courier X, then I may as well deposit them without searching because there is rarely anything collectible inside the box I received from Courier X. In comparison, if I receive a box of halves from Courier Y, then there is a good chance there will be at least one collectible inside the box. I have been searching boxes of halves for 4 years and this has always been true in my area.
I have 4 boxes of halves arriving today from two different banks, and I am curious to find out which source the boxes will come from because it varies week-to-week.

Thanks.. last year I found a Washing Quarter thar has about 5 degrees of rotation..I should finish my CRH today. I have another first for me that came out of the same box as the posted half

Pan4au can you post clear obverse and reverse pics of the coin? That's where you would see the cut.

Loomis boxes. NOTHING every time. |

Berto, Big Silver, Unfortunately I live in a small town, all my coin come from one place, all the banks/CU use loomis from El Paso Tx. There is a different box that is marked Miracle but it is also delivered by Loomis. Matter of fact I do not dump at this bank where I pick up the Miracle boxes yet I find coins I have dumped at different banks that end up in those boxes. One of the down falls of living in a small town. I can't complain too much, I have found a lot of silver since I have started searching. It seems to me I am getting coins I have seen before much quicker than the past. For example in my last boxes I founds coins I marked to weeks ago. I just don't want to match my last year skunk streak of 48 boxes or more. I have told myself soon after I started this, if I hit 100 box skunk streak I would stop for a while. I don't want to stop. LOL

There is a local coin courier in my area that uses the first-in-first out method for coin. When I receive an order filled by this courier, I see many marked coins I know I have seen within the last month. Only very rarely (average 0.000008 in every 1,000 coins...No joke) do I find a collectible coin. In my area, Loomis is the only other courier, and I much prefer their boxes because I find an occasional (2 in 1,000 coins) collectible in their boxes.
Locally, Loomis ran out of halves a few years ago, so I was stuck with the other coin courier and decided to take a break for almost 2 years. Loomis recently boxed more halves. The only reason I realized this was a local bank this past Easter ordered a box of halves for folks who wanted to get halves to hide in kids' Easter eggs, and I saw the box of Loomis halves sitting on the counter at the bank! Now my half box orders are filled with about 50/50 local courier/Loomis. This history/process has been interesting to follow and keeps me intrigued.

I found what appears to be a rotated die. I found a 2001 Capital visitor center commemorative half a 1974D no FG Box 1 was a skunk Box 2 had 2 40% silvers and 13 NIFC's.. the rotated die and the 2001 Capital Commemorative half. a Bombardment of Ft Sumter collectable Box 3 had 2-1964 and 3 40% 5 NIFC's one was a 1987P Box 4 had 1-1964 and 8-40% and 8 NIFC's Box 5 1-1964 and 2 40% 9NIFC's and a Bicentennial proof box 6 had 3 40%, 7 NIFC's and the 74D no FG     |
