Quote: Pan4au can you post clear obverse and reverse pics of the coin? That's where you would see the cut.

Wow! Nice find, pan4au! Congrats! As for me, just did a box now... and it was pretty smelly, save for two NIFCs, one of which was my first 2017-dated Half!

arby96, that is amazing that you've found so many of those 1974-D DDOs. I am STILL looking for my first one! When I first re-started CRH a couple of years ago, I noticed a good number of 1974-D halves with black marker on the right side of the motto... I continue to find a good number of those to this day. My only conclusions are either that very few of them made it out my way, and/or the coins I go through have been picked clean of them.

John, I mark every 74D with a small dot using a red sharpie at the rear of Kennedys head after I check for doubling. This helps save me time when one of the marked coins comes back around to me. I don't mark any other coins, but obviously we all encounter an incredible number of marked coins during our searches.

Well, it happened again to me today... went to one of my banks in a neighboring city to get some nickels, and as usual, I also asked if they had any halves. Usually, the answer is always "NO" as there's a person that goes there almost every day to get them according to the one of the tellers... well, this morning, I got a rare "YES" from said branch... the teller said "I have $5.50 in halves." I told her I'd take them all of course... she was more than happy to get rid of them... I heard THAT sound as she grabbed them and passed them to me... So, yes a 1943 Walker, a 1964 Kennedy, and 3 90%-ers... I go across that city to the other branch of said bank... I ask the teller for nickels and halves... she said she had halves, and I asked her how many, and she said $90 in back and $2 in her tray... Well, I just happened to have $93 on me along with 6 halves I'd gotten earlier at the other branch... So she went to the back and got the halves... 8 of the rolls looked like the new style customer wrapping... but the one stood out... Yes, it was the old style wrapper... and I had gotten halves at this same branch before with that style wrapper and they had all been good... She handed me the four halves in the tray, and one of them was a 40%-er... I got to my car, and quickly opened the old style wrapper roll... and, well, you guessed it.. ALL Franklins! The breakdown: 1951 (2), 1951-D, 1951-S, 1952, 1952-D (2), 1953-D, 1954 (2), 1957-D (2), 1959-D (2), 1960-D (2), 1961 (2), 1962 (2). I waited until I got home to open the rolls in the modern style wrapping, not expecting much... well, there were 9 40%-ers, and also (very oddly) a 2009-D NIFC... Prior to today, this month had already been my best ever CRH for halves... I added 35 silvers (22 90%, 13 40%) and a NIFC to the coffers... I had found 14 90%-ers and 22 40%-ers this month, so my June 2018 totals end up being 36 90%-ers, and 35 40%-ers!
