Thats what I keep looking for Chuckster! I see a lot that look like they might be doubled but can never find the seperated serifs. Wow nice find!!

Great job, Chuckster. I agree that it would be great to to look for errors but it seems to require a lot more time to go for the non-obvious ones.
I'd like to ask a question that may seem a bit odd but here goes. How many of us are doing this in least all smart to amass 40% and 90% halves for a time perhaps not so far in the distant future when the clad coinage becomes worthless--and our money is only as good as the silver or the gold it contains?
I know this probably sounds kooky, but anybody else share this view?

jowillia - That's a whole 'nother topic, but check out this web site and read the silver forum - https://www.kitcomm.com/ Lots of people (me included) are stacking silver for when the SHTF (excuse the language). Look at what Chavez just did in Venezuela, devaluing the currency by 50%. The US is following his path, we're just a few years behind him. |

 Yeah, I've saved EVERY silver piece I've scored whether it's from roll searching or just bought outright. I always figured it'd be nice to have as a "reserve for emergencies". Ideally, when I'm at retirement age (not that I have THAT much) but just to add to whatever my needs might be at that time. I hope I'll just be able to "hand down" my entire collection.....including 90%ers and 40%ers......gold....whatever, to a VERY fortunate family member ! But yup......I wonder how many "collections" will "go out the door" when times get "really" tough in this Country ! I'm going to hold out for as long as I can if things "go to *&%#% ! |

I think we might see 19 soon. There will be profit taking at that point which will drive it right back down though, in my humble opinion.

What is the "big deal" with halfs from 1964? I know nothing about halfs.

Biglite, 1964 was the last year 90% coinage was made for circulation. They are a play on the current silver prices.

Thats been my thinking, if things go south for me (or worse) its nice having a pile o silver at the ready. I'd like to keep it until retirement( still far away) though. As for gold...I'm not that fortunate haha

You should see 1964 coins more expensive than the 1965 - 1970 (they are only 40% silver). Look at the prices for 1971 - they drop considerably. You could drown a 1000 T-Rex's in 1971 halves there are so many of them. The same goes for 1974 and 1976!
