Khromtau Pillar of the Community United States 679 Posts	Posted 02/08/2023 10:39 pm Got another 2003 out of the box I did on Monday which was someone's dump, a lot of the halves were pretty damaged by someone with a love of wire snips, bolt cutters, or some similar tool. DiscoLover82 Valued Member United States 218 Posts	Posted 02/11/2023 08:59 am Why a coin roll hunter would purposefully damage the coins they look through is beyond me. Tools like them ruin the hobby for the rest of us! I still also think it's interesting how many proofs you'll find hunting halves, compared to other denominations. Recently, I did a 7-roll hunt and the only find of note was an ender: a 2014-P NIFC, though I threw it back considering it was in crappy condition. I kept a nice 2006-P NIFC that I found doing another 10-roll hunt though. Report this Post to the Staff
gsr12010 Valued Member United States 244 Posts	Posted 02/11/2023 12:40 pm I've seen a bunch of the acid dipped halves. They are weird. I think a lot of it is late shift boredom at machine shops and factories with chemical baths, grinding equipment, drill presses, etc. Report this Post to the Staff
