6- 40%er's.

That's it for boxes this week, now it's back to cents/nickels/quarters until next week's shipment of boxes again!

I finally asked my bank about ordering a box, they don't get boxes, but will order me a bag, that they get from another bank (Wachovia). I told them to go for it, but am wondering if I'll get someone else's dump. I guess I'll give it one shot and then try my other bank where I have a rarely touched account.

well, as I stated earlier, my bank had ordered several boxes, not for me personally, but because people have been asking like crazy around here! anyway, the first box they split up between tellers. I was able to get almost half, and only managed 2 40%.=( I called again today and they have one box, but the manager will not split this box. only way is for someone to buy the $500/box. other than that one branch, every other branch does not have any/just got bought out or I dump at, so it is leaving me with a dry spell. glad to see others are doing better.

eddiespin: I've only ever seen the D's and they were pretty pristine - in my searching I've probably seen at least 10 of them in the past few months. Most people seem to mark up the bicentennials, of course, and there's even some jerk who marks them with red nail polish. Then again maybe that's not so bad since acetone will definitely take that off.

Jbuck, what are these "specimens"?, I've never heard of them.
Is it some other organization that makes these as you inferred?
I'm just trying to learn more about Ike's myself, that's why it caught my eye.

Box down...

1 - 67 and a beautiful 93D that I just had to keep.

When I picked up my 3 boxes of halves the bank shared with me that they got an extra box if I wanted it. Will pick that up today! So 3 boxes of halves and a box of nickels should be good for the weekend.

Happy hunting...

Specimen is just another way to say copy, fake, or fantasy piece. I have never seen that "specimen" in particular, so I do not know who made it, or why. But it is interesting and if I found it I would keep it.

Nail polish means an old-timer, most likely. Anyway, acetone (a.k.a., nail polish remover)...that makes sense. But, I'll tell you, if that surface is any good for the high grade you need in these (and, we're talking, here, basically, gem+++), it's going to take some of the "life" out of that surface, and negatively affect its reflectivity, ever so slightly. Don't mean to be so pedantic, here, but that's what we're into, really, on these astronomically high grades. Just my opinion, anyhow.
