CoinMania: If I may, just some helpful/friendly advice on just looking at the sides. You could easily miss some of the 40%er's. ( 67's, 68's & especially the 1969D in particular.) I've been fooled a few times thinking no silver when I first opened a roll, but as I'm going through the roll coin by coin, I've found 40 % er's in the roll and the edges looked like any normal clad half. *I'm also looking for any DDO / DDR's so I take my time coin by coin as I'm in no hurry.* Good Luck!

SD - are you saying you got $50 for 19 - 40% halves ($9.50 face)? If so, then you made over 5x face on them.......even after fees etc., you made over 4x face. I've sold 4 rolls of 90% halves on ebay to fund my hobby, total $ price of the 4 separate rolls is shade over $500. Nearly 13x face value. I still have quite a few rolls put away, and at this point will continue to sell about 1/5 of what I find to fund higher end purchases of SLQ's, Walking halves, and other coins I decide I want to keep in my collection.

chuckster 125 Quote: SOOOO, your the culprit - I'll have to see what I can do about getting this corrected! . I think I spoke to soon, I just read your profile and I'm not in Jersey.... If that is indeed where you are.... I think we should start some kinda league or association for half hunters. You get an assigned territory and you have exclusive right to mine that claim. We can have a draft for cities! Of course a small percentage of your finds going to your local boss, :) Who in turn provides mafia type enforcement in this association. They could go around tracking unregulated half hunters and start intimidating them. As well as the tellers who order them halves without seeing there UHHA card (United Half Hunters Association) lol I think this has real potential, anyone feel free to chime in with further ideas and maybe a better name as well. Until ran against, your UHHA president - The silver machine

I would like to hereby declare myself "sub-boss" in this syndicate of "my" area here in Northeast Kansas ! Let me know what "the boss" requires as his "cut" to the family well being. I will be a loyal member to the U.H.H.A. family and will enforce "the rules" without hesitation or conscious !

Quote: I would like to hereby declare myself "sub-boss" in this syndicate of "my" area here in Northeast Kansas I never wanted this for you. I work my whole life--I don't apologize--to take care of my family, and I refused to be a fool, dancing on the string held by all those bigshots. I don't apologize--that's my life--but, I thought that, that when it was your time, that you would be the one to hold the string. Senator Eaglefoot; Governor Eaglefoot. Well, it wasn't enough time... But, until that day, accept this gesture as a gift on my daughter's wedding day.

OK. Searched my first 'bag' of halves ($500) from my bank. Seems they don't get it in a box, they get this big old plastic bag. I am fairly skeptical that it may come from another bank. Anyhow......
1 - 1964 90% 1 - 1968 40%
No proofs, NIFC's, etc.
I canx my order for the next bag, as I think I'll search out a bank where I'm getting boxes, whether Brinks or S&S.
What do you guys think? Would you suspect the bag to be someone else's dump or does Brinks (where this bank gets the rest of its change) do this?
