hybes and also wtg on the finds!

2 Box total today: (carryover's because of the Snow-Storm this past Thurs/Fri.)

First Box- ZILCH! completely skunked!

Second Box: Saved the day.

2- 90%ers- a 52P Franklin & a 64P JFK.

9- 40%ER's

* 4 Proof's (All Clad- Non Silver)

1776-1976S, 2000S and 2,2009S.

Considering the lousy 2 box total from Saturday, I feel much better about today's final count!

Next boxes due in Wed.

$220 in brinks rolls (cleaned out my bank and ordered a box) ... thought I was gonna get the skunk but I pulled a 2007D out of the second to last roll. Not a stellar find by any means, but it's my first NIFC find.

Gotta cash these in and find more!

$13.50 is loose halves from the service counter at the grocery store where I picked up my lotto tix for Wednesday. Four 40%ers. I asked the manager if they had any 1/2 dollars they'd like to get rid of, and they did. First time I've asked there. Hmmmmm.

Wish I could maintain that ratio all of the time!

Hey All!

Newcomer here. I've actually taken the time to read all 206 pages of this thread (scary I know). You guys have very interesting posts and I wish you all continued luck with your searching. I've been searching for about 2 years and have come across some very interesting and lucrative finds. I hope I'm able to gain even more insight from everyone's knowledge and experience.

Yeah.......you have to be "hardcore".....but really, I prefer the term "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder" !

You just have GOT to be O.C.D. to do this on a consistent basis ! ...
I liken it to the "Gold Fever" from the 1800's....everyone thinks they have perfect self control.....UNTIL THEY FIND IT ! (in this case Silver) .....then they're hooked !
Or....it's like gambling......it's easy to not be a gambler if you've only gone a few times and never really had much luck and it's just never been exciting or any big deal whatsoever, a and you're fine with never going again.......BUT...... if you hit a slot machine for a few hundred bucks or more....or win 18 out 20 hands at Blackjack or whatever. THEN THEY NOW GOT YA !!
The addiction begins ! ....
Once you start finding Silver.....or other nice "keepers".....the "bug" can bite HARD !

.......... ... ...

Welcome aboard - the worst thing that could happen is that you find a load of silver right off of the bat like I did. Now I'm searching something 5 days a week! LOL.

In fact - just finished a $500 bag.

18 - 40%ers!!
1 - 90% (1964).
1 Proof - 1983S
1 Commemorative - 1986S (Statue of Liberty)

Getting nearly a roll of 40% is a bonus for sure.

I know I'm getting part of someones dumps as well, as there were probably 50 coins marked with red sharpie on the "R" in LIBERTY. But there was enough other stuff in the bag to easily offset those.

There were NO coins above 2000 in the bag, and only 2 of those that were very beat up. I did find an AU/BU 1971D to replace the one in my folder.

Now - time to start dumping it again before buying another bag next week.

nice finds AFCOP.....always a pleasure to find a commem or foreign coin in halves as well as silver, and you got a bit of everything in there.

I'm waiting on 2 $500 boxes and 2 $1000 bags. not sure if the bags will make it as I left a message at the bank for the lady who does the ordernig to do so and call me if there was a problem. She did not call, so I (should) be gtg.

the golden ticket is to pull a seated liberty half from a roll

you find that and you've surpassed virtually everyone here if not all lol,
i think one guy actually pulled a holed capped bust from a tray though if I remember correctly

-keep hunting
