Quote: Yeah.......you have to be "hardcore".....but really, I prefer the term "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder" !
You just have GOT to be O.C.D. to do this on a consistent basis ! ... I liken it to the "Gold Fever" from the 1800's....everyone thinks they have perfect self control.....UNTIL THEY FIND IT ! (in this case Silver) .....then they're hooked ! Or....it's like gambling......it's easy to not be a gambler if you've only gone a few times and never really had much luck and it's just never been exciting or any big deal whatsoever, a and you're fine with never going again.......BUT...... if you hit a slot machine for a few hundred bucks or more....or win 18 out 20 hands at Blackjack or whatever. THEN THEY NOW GOT YA ! The addiction begins ! .... Once you start finding Silver.....or other nice "keepers".....the "bug" can bite HARD !
.......... ... ... That's exactly how it is. Now, try explaining that to my wife... PS: If I say something in the woods, and my wife isn't around, am I still wrong?

Ah, explaining it to the wife.
She sees a $500 withdrawal, and even though there are deposits (dump money) back into the account over the next couple of days, she still feels like its costing a fortune. I've explained, hey, if I'm going to have a hobby, shouldn't it be collecting MONEY!
LOL. She is currently not commenting, as I sold a little over $500 in silver pulled from searches (1/4 of my finds are sold). Of course, I also bought about $500 in other stuff for my collections along with a gift for her.

Good morning!
Hang on to your silver! Silver has increased about $2/oz. in the past 30 days! Let's see it get to $30/oz, how awesome would that be...

Well, I think it's a good investment, not sure about more than $22 an ounce, but even that would be a great appreciation. As mentioned, I keep 75% of what I find, and auction off the rest to use to fund my habit/hobby.
Yesterdays finds represent a better than 10% profit for that $500 bag I went through. I'll be listing a 40% roll, for which I will make 5-6x face based on recent experience. Should be a nice slabbed coin addition coming to my collection soon thanks to that listing.

Went to TD Banknorth to try out the coin counter and the bag fills at like 150 dollars. is that normal? the lady had to change the bag like 4 times.

Yep!
TD Bank by me, the .50 cent bag fills every $100.00 dollars and it's a real pain if you are trying to dump a box ($500.00) back.
They have to dump the bag and re-load 5 times!
I try and dump on slow off peak hours at this bank so as not to tick them off too much!
I have other banks that I dump that take $1000.00 to fill the half bags thank goodness!

Man - I'm doing dumps in $98 increments to not incur a fee. I need to research other banks and see if I'll need an account.

Had a great day today! I bought $320.00 in customer rolls and ended up with 413 40% and 1 90%!! Holy Crap what a pull! All you silver searchers don't get down after a few bad days, keep going and you will be rewarded. Thanks to Chase Bank for the generous donation!

Hybes, I hate you!!!
j/k, of course, but my finds have stunk big time......very sparse. My banks have no halves ever when I go in, and they both tell me I am the only one looking for them. Of course, nobody is dumpnig either to my knowledge.
I am at the point that when I pick up my halves the next time I am going to tell them not to order any more....the finds are too sparse to justify the running around, withdrawing $$, dumping, etc.
I need some old bag to dump their 50 yr old mattress $$ in right before I get there.
