MAN !! They are tough to find around here in "loose" or "rolled".
I used a "three hour lunch" and I hit close to 17 different banks today asking for any "halves" and ONLY ONE BANK had some.......$9.50 worth !!
And no silver or anything else in there....
So, apparently, the ONLY way I can EVER get any, is the way I usually do, and that's "ordering" them through my own bank !
I have $1,000.00 in Fed. Halves ordered....but they won't be in until April 9th......

I just got a few hundred dollars worth of Nickels and $60.00 in Quarters (I'm making a coin tube of P and D of the D.C. & Territories and wanna get em' before they're all beat up)
I'll get a couple boxes of Cents too before the weekend....but I sure hate to have to wait a week and a half to search Halves ! .....o|(slipped up and forgot to get my order in!)

The fun begins again tomorrow for boxes.

It's getting to the point that I'm not even looking forward to them anymore with the lousy amount of silver being found.

Its a real pain (etc) to get rid of them after the search!

Some "dump banks" are even starting to complain that the volume of halfs are wearing out their coin counting machines as they were not meant to handle huge amounts of coins.

I'll probably give this another month or so at best and then stay with Lincolns/Jeffersons/Rosy's and Washingtons and occasionally buy a few $100.00 bags of Ike's.

Honestly, halfs are starting to wear me out also along with the coin counting machines (LOL).

I've received boxes that were opened. When I complained, teller asked me if the rolls were short. I said no, then she replied, "then what's the problem?" It's hard to find cust rolls in my area also, because so many customers are now asking. Interesting to note, tellers at 3 different banks have told me that they cannot accept known silver or other collectable coins from a customer for deposit, they have to direct customer to a local dealer or jeweler. No wonder I never find any solid silver rolls, and the tellers are major blocks to begin with.

Looks like alot of silver depression going on. Dumping gets exhausting, searching only to come up empty gets exhausting, and dealing with the tellers can even get exhausting.

I've decided to take a few weeks off of halves, I may ask for loose or customer rolled when dropping off some nickels or cents, but that'll be it.

Good luck to the rest of you though. Hopefully you'll hit some of those motherloads that are out there.........waiting.....

I've found that doing 1 box per week is ok for my dumping sanity. I toyed with the idea of ordering multiple boxes per week but the thought of dumping that much stuff was too depressing.

I picked up my regular weekly box yesterday and got:

1 1964
1 1965
1 1967
2 1968-D
1 1965 English large penny (the second one of these I've found)

I know that whoever is putting together these NF String& Sons boxes doesn't have any way of pulling different metal contents out (ie silver) since the copper is getting in there!

Not a great haul, but if I get a box like this every week I think it's worth it. I'm still waiting on my motherload...

I usually get my boxes in on Monday, Thurdays and Fridays. Well on Monday I came in ready to buy 4 boxes (my usual), but to my surprise the teller and manager look at each other and the manager says "you want all four?" I replied "Yes please" then the teller walks over and nods at the manager and the teller says "Oh look we only have 2 boxes" at that point I knew something was weird. They always order the same amounts for me per week. The teller noticed that I dint believe her at that point she changed the conversation and said look what came in today and she pulled out a Morgan dollar and said a collector gave it to me, there I knew someone else is invading my box territory. So yesterday (Wednesday) I walked in to buy a box of dimes and the assistant manager says "you dont want halves today?" I said "dont they come in tomorrow" he replied "we have 2 boxes that we "found" in the safe" I took them. It seems the other collerctor/trespasser dint come in for those boxes.
Dont you guys just hate it when someone walks into your territory.

Here are the resuls for 2 boxes.

16-40%ers
3-90%ers 1 BU 1964
1-1989 proof.

I seriously wish I went to the bank yesterday, I would be even more happier.

I went to chase today to make a deposit and asked if they had any half dollar rolls, they said they just swapped 4 rolls to someone this morning and only had 6 halfs left. I bought those and I found a 1965, then 3 in the 80's but the last 2 coin wasn't a jfk!! They were 2 Ellis island/liberty half dollars (1986 s)
Gonna go back this Monday and hope they got some more proofs

Are 2010's going to be considered NIFC's? In searching thru a box right now and I have found 3 2010 P's.

Has anyone else found any?
so far I've gone thru about 1/4 of a box and 2 40%ers.
