i think it will fluctuate with these hard times like you said. people are dumping their silver at the banks and that can account for more as well. I work with people that dont even know about pre 1964 coins having silver in them

yeah I just got 6 more boxes on monday and got totally screwed. 1 stinkin 68.
also, they were total Bs about it for some reason. I had to fill out all this stuff even though every other week they've just traded cash for cash. they made a big to do about it and put my driver's license number in their records...
maybe i'll get a sweet visit from the men in suits!

as I was making my car payment today at the local credit union, I had an inkling to ask for any halves. usually they dont, but today she had $10, I thought what the heck.. I had $10 extra after my car payment, as she was looking through them I spotted a white edge!~! I thought for sure she would pull it out for her.. but NOPE.. left it in there and low and behold a 64-d! finally. not that I had been searching halves very much, but this made my month...
they had $30 or $40 more, but I only had $20 on me so I snagged a few more rolls, but nothing. il check back there again soon..

Quote: am I pretty close, saying the proofs are only really worth 1-3 dollars. honesty That's probably about right---although I don't know for sure; maybe even less. It seems to me that once a proof gets impaired (the tiniest little bit, even a fingerprint), that their value should drop dramatically, since they are really for collectors only---and if they're not perfect, well----:-)

I think I found a 1972D no F. I will have to take it to the dealer and have him look at it. I did not see this as common in my "getting rich form pocket change" book so maybe I found something new. If I can get up a pick I will. I am at work now and will ahve to try later. I haven't taken a pic yet so it will stink anyway.

2 boxes yesterday. Box 1 was a skunk. Box 2 pulled 3 40%ers. Was thrilled with that beings it was a Fed box.
Picking up 2 boxes later today or tomorrow.

maybe i'll get a sweet visit from the men in suits! Just because they made a big to-do about it and took your driver's license number for their records doesn't necessarily mean that they are out to get you. Then again, do you keep hearing helicopters?
