Rawmeat, head on over to Wells Fargo. I have NEVER had a problem with them and most of their branches have coin counters that are free if you have an account. I've even jammed their coin machine on occasion and they are always very helpful. Not once have they said "enough" with the coins.

Two flatties - 3 90%s - 44 40%s. It's about time! I was starting to take the batting slump personally.

Dumping is getting difficult. I am running out of oprions, I hate haveing accounts all over the place. Maybe getting a box today. I hope it is all silver so I don't have to dump it.
You hope it will all be silver? You might as well hope that you hit the jackpot on that lottery ticket.
i agree. too much. slow it down. greedy are we?
one box /week is what I can manage. even if I had more to spend, I just dont have the time, energy or patience to drive all over town, dump, pick up, dump... one box is enough for me. soon they will all be charging, thanks
So far I'm only doing one box a week and I don't plan on exceeding that. I have better things to do, like try to cultivate actual skills. I understand people see the unbelievable finds here and they need a piece of the action or they strike the motherlode and are hooked chasing the dream but ya gotta understand you can ruin things for everyone.
From what I've seen there are many other dumpers around town. My fear is that the big banks will adopt an antidumping/ordering policy closing all their branches down at once.

Missouri seems to be one of like 5 states they don't have branches is. Missouri must be weird with banking laws or something -- I could not find any chase branches here either on their locator.

If you want to return your coins do it once a month for each box you have in your house, condo, town house, storage unit or apartment. I think some of you on here aren't really coin collectors at all but greedy silver hoarders. You have no passion for the hobby all you want to do is make a quick buck! Customers at the bank know what you look like and they see what you are doing and they know your going to ruin the process of returning coins without being charged. I only bring my coins to the bank from purchases I made at the stores when I go shopping. I think some people need to find a new hobbie before you start agitating other customers at the banks.

Just a humble request. If you get the time, please post your rainbow toned kennedy finds (just the silver ones) to this thread: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...PIC_ID=89052 . . . We're trying to get an idea in my kid's coin club of how common these are. Would really appreciate if you've got them if you'd play along. Thanks!

Nick - Your assessment is a little harsh. No doubt, there are some that search just to make money from silver, though they would frankly do better at McDonalds. To anyone out there reading this thread thinking about jumping in with both feet to strike it rich "mining silver" from boxes, don't do it. You will be supremely disappointed and extremely poor. As a person that has searched hundreds of boxes, this is not a means to make money Personally, I use my roll finds to supplement my coin buying funds (keeps my wife off my back). In other words, I use the 40% Kennedys and some 90% Kennedys as a means to get BU Morgan for my collection and to some extent pennies I cannot find in circulation. To date, I have been able to get approx 25 common BU Morgans as well as a 78' CC (BU to be graded - MS 63/64), 81' CC (ANACS MS 62 and toned), 82' CC (NGC MS 63), 83' CC (NGC MS 63) and an 84' CC (BU to be graded - MS 63/64) due to my roll finds. In addition, I have gotten some Walking Liberties and a few Silver Eagles. Am I greedy? I guess so in that I want to find more so I can get more for my collection. The work of searching paid off at the Baltimore Whitman show in March. I was able to buy what I wanted without guilt that I was spending the families' grocery money. Just my Two Cents.

Well Nobis1 don't mean to come off harsh, but if you were in my shoes you would understand I don't want to start paying charges so I can put the money into my account. I've had things taken away from me or they started charging because people were taking advantage of the system. So the end honest people like me got screwed because of dishonest people.

Agreed Nobis1. It is very harsh commentary. Everyone has the same opportunity to go coin roll hunting. All they need is a bank account. It would be one thing if only select people were able to get bank boxes, but that isn't the case. I believe in the numismatic aspect just like you do - only using the proceeds from the few coins I find to upgrade my various Whitman's. I happen to enjoy looking through Lincoln pennies (not silver) even MORE than Kennedy halves. One box of each a week. If someone is offended or thinks I am "greedy" they can go pound sand as that obviously isn't the case.
