Wow I could just see the look on my bank tellers face. They look at me like I have 2 heads when I order one! Lucky you! I have a box coming this week. Hope I'm lucky. My last box no silver and not much except a 1987 S. Good luck. May I ask what bank

Quote: I forgot to report last week. 4 boxes and only found 4 40%'s. All of those came from the 1st box. The last three had zippee. I also searched a box of dimes and a box of pennies. The dimes were a skunk, and the pennies yielded 5 wheats, all common. Not a good week.
This week, I decided to go "all in" so to speak. I ordered 10 boxes... Should be fun no matter what.
Wow, that isn't a good week indeed. And good luck on your 10 boxes. You are bound to find something with that. Can't wait for results.

Angel - I spread it out over the week at different banks. Makes it more palatable. Thanks for the well wishes Murellington. Looking forward to the search. The dumping, not so much. Should be fun though.

I found 12 40% and 1 90%. Those were my first finds in along time.

That makes sense. I couldn't imagine one bank wanting to order that much! Good luck with all those!

So I'm new to this whole game, and don't know a lot about values, etc but I opened a roll and found 3 halves that I can't figure out what they are/their value and my research hasn't helped.
1971-D 1972- 1998-D
All three are uncirculated, and look like they may be proofs. There is no copper visable on the sides (similar to the 64-70 coins I have found), but when I looked, it says the proofs should be S minted. Anyone know what coins I have?

I'm new to coin roll searching and was wondering...what is the group's experience with Brinks Boxes. I had little success with the others (Fed Boxes which are paper wrapped). Also, would silver in Brinks Boxes depend on geography (where the purchaser is located/where the box is delivered)? Please let me know what you think about this. Thanks.

lincolncentguy; Do you know this as a FACT? I've heard rumors, but I still find a few silvers. Nothing like it used to be, but I figure it has to run out some day.

doors and buchsy, doors, proofs from 1968 on have been made at the San Fran mint, so yes they have an S mint mark. Yours are not proofs. What you have are very nice coins, possibly from mint sets, but thats all. Sometimes its hard to see the copper in the rim on coins with little or no wear. On the personal front, my lady forgot to order my boxes for last week, so I just grabbed a box of quarters. Only one silver, but its the oldest I have found in circulation. A 1935 in G04. The cool thing being the reverse is a little rotated. Tomorrow I pick up the two boxes she did order for this week. So hopefully I will have some cool finds to report.

Hey everyone, Haven't posted for awhile, but it's been great to keep read about all of your finds. Just wanted to post some results from my most-recent search. Every week I get two $1,000 bags of halves from a bank that uses Loomis. I'd say I'd had pretty average luck. 60% of the bags are skunks, most of the bags that have silver will have just a few keepers, but every once in awhile I'd get a decent bag that had 40 or more. Well, this week was my best week of searching I've ever had. Here's a pic of the results. Each stack has ten 40%'ers. The first bag had a total of 6 90% and 84 40%. The second bag was even better, with a total of 1 90% and 354 40%, for a total of 7 90% and 440 40%!This weekend I took my haul to my favorite coin shop, and traded the 447 keepers from the two bags for this. Needless to say, I still can't believe it. I found more keepers in two bags than I had found in the previous one hundred bags I had searched. Thanks for reading, and thanks for posting all of your finds. They really kept me motivated during a streak of 18 consecutive skunk bags. I can't wait to read about your future monster finds.
