i think that's the oldest date in any denomination I have seen anybody find in rolls. I am still amazed that that beauty. it still has great detail too. I wonder how long that was sitting in a vault until it got ordered.

Yep , it is old ! Once I found a 1959 type 1 IHC and I though noway in heaven we would ever find a older one but today I was like : Wth !! It cant be true ?!.. Now I think is almost impossible to find a older then that because the droped bust is just too rare to be find in a roll but we never know ! I always expect to see anytime on the lincoln roll finds tread Some member to show up with a flying eagle and I though it ll be the oldest we could get from roll search but this caped bust just prove me wrong and never be so happy to be wrong lol ! Can anybody tell me if is it real ? Did they made counterfits in silver back in the time ? And how did a coincouter machine accepted this coin so thin ? Is almost as thin as a Mercury dime !

Are Capped bust halves supposed to be that thin?

The width of that half is 30mm, while JFKs are 30.6mm. SO it is possible that that thing could wind up in a roll.
Go to a coin shop and see what they say about it being real.
Btw how many rolls did you have to go through to find that?

I found it in $1000 worth of halves ! I dont know how thin its supposed be because I never owned one but the pics on my Red Book are identical , when I pulled out I though it was fake because of the unreeded rim also because of the dots around the edges kind of chinese morgan counterfeit style . After read the Red Book I found out that the reeding on rim is only after 1837 and the dots are just like on mine so I'm almost sure its genuine but I'm not expert on halves .

2 boxes tonight. No silver at all! Found 26 NIFC (mostly 2009) Also found a double sided tails half. I've read about people finding these. Most likely a Magician's coin. Hopefully next week will be better.

I have not been able to fine any banks with halfs so I decided to try my luck and have my bank order me a box. I will have it Wednesday so I should have it done on Thursday.

Hello fellow hunters... Been a loooooooong time since I have been here so spend some time looking at the latest finds from everyone. Wow, some unbelieveable finds out there. Well with the schedule a little bit more back to normal after the kids playing baseball hopefully will dig into some halves again.
Congrats on the finds everyone!
