Another box, another skunk....but another proof...and a US Mint full color armed forces Kennedy half. It's a 2002 I think.

Now I've got to dump...I'm up to this box of halves and 3 boxes of pennies. Much more and I'll need a wheelbarrow to get them into the bank.

Need to get the sorting machine working for the copper/zinc guys...then I can just hand sort the coppers.

But silver finally dropped again today, might be time to buy eagles instead.

That is simply amazing Chuck. I yearn for the day I get a box like that. If you dont mind me asking, are you east, west, south, or Midwest area?

I am really beginning to think the Midwest is the hardest to pull silver, proofs, or any Varieties.

4 boxes tonight. 3 skunks, 1 box had 3 40% and 22 2009 NIFC that looked almost BU.

Has anyone else noticed that they get one common BU looking date in each box or group of boxes at once? Last week my boxes were full of 1994 BU and this week it was 1993. A couple of weeks ago it was 1998. I'm talking at least 20-25 per box. I started out keeping some of the better ones, but it got way too expensive to keep that many.

The last month has been pretty dry for me. 16 boxes and only 6 40%. Makes me want to take a break.

2 boxes last night, 10 40% 1 1964.
Today was a good morning though, almost all the TD Banks I go to when dropping halves, the bags only hold $100 and someone has to come over to change bags. Well this morning I was told the Penny Arcade machine on the left holds $400 in halves.

Hey snoman, if you're going to buy the sorter they sell on ebay for 35-50 bucks, just keep 1 thing in mind. When sorting copper, it spits the wheats out with the zinc.

Today's box was a record breaker for NIFC's. 67 total and all in high grade MS condition. 2003P (12), 2003D (9), 2004P (11), 2004D (6), 2005P (12), 2005D (17). Amazing to see this many show up when the mintage for each of this coins is between 2.5 to 3.8 million! These all look like they were minted yesterday.

guys, I am fairly new to half searching. I have gone through about three boxes and all of been skunks and many of the coins were marked up. Obviously there are some pretty heafty searchers in this area. I would like to have my bit of fun too and was wondering what it might take to get away from these halves that have been gone through already. I opened an account with another bank and they also use brinks which seems to be the commonality here as I haven't seen any strings rolls at all. Should I try more different banks or drive to other areas?

I have also been going through dimes and have scored 8 roosies so far, 6 of those came from two boxes so I was pretty happy about that, but out of 15 boxes, 13 or so of those have been skunks as well which puts my percentages very low. I have a feeling that most of the goodies in my area have already been mined long before I got on board. thanks for any advice fellas.
