I see that a lot of people are having good luck with rolls from bank.
I get a lot here and there from commuting...And a lot of tellers tell me most people who work at the bank go through looking for silver.
I am very sad about that.
Another thing...Loomis.. I have been told by numerous people and banks that all their boxxes will be skunks cause Loomis goes through them. Any truth to thhis?

Lots of people say Loomis or Brinks search them.... But silver is still found. I doubt it as well. They don't have time for that sort of stuff.

Another quick question...I am more of a Lincoln roll guy myself. I know the 2002 are NIFC and anything 1970 before is silver. Did every year come in Silver proof, mint mark S?
Oh and haul...picked up 100 or so dollars in halfs on way home.
Most tellers told me that they either search through them, or customers do...decided to go through it anyways.
My haul? 31 bicent, 30 1971s...those were the biggest amounts..And plenty of other beautiful looking coins. No silver. Thinking about starting a bu roll set though. 1971 -> :)

Murrellington...you said that they dont have time for that sort of thing...well I dont know about Loomis but I have told you guys about Brinks before. I'm a courier that does work for Wells Fargo and my route also takes me to the Brinks office and they have 6 gals that work in the office with the change and 5 of the 6 told me straight up that they take all the silver from the half dollars! So...in my area it does me no good to even search half dollars because I know I'm not going to find any silver! One of the gals even told me she saved all her silver finds for a year and then sold the silver and got a whole new wardrobe and shoes!

lincoln, that is the Brinks near you. It may not be true across the board though. Just as all tellers dont search them either. Most tellers around here barely know what a half dollar is, let alone that they were silver at one time. And ask them about Ikes... thats their reaction. Eyes glaze over and they drool while they try to figure out exactly what you just asked about. Most of these people would fork over a Morgan or Peace and not have a clue. Anyway, we did two boxes Friday night and got 17 40%, including two keepers for the collection, a 67 and 68D. So we took all the junky silver halves we have found and a few investment Eagles and went to the coin shop and sold the for 480. So not too bad, but could be better.
