Thanks angel, when you go to the bank do you use the drive through to make deposits/withdrawals? I always go inside to do all transactions and make sure to be polite and say hello to the employees I know, the better they like me the more they're going to be willing to help me out.

Yes. I go in and do the rest of my banking. In one of the banks I know most all. They order but really think I am weird there. The other bank I have my mortgage and checking and yes I go in and almost end up apologizing for ordering. I would stop but I think I've been lucky so far with my finds! Thannks for your help! May I ask the bank you get yours from?

Chase and BoA. I had a teller giggle when I said I would buy the 9 half dollars in her tray, almost felt like she was laughing at me...BUT then again she just gave me 9 1964's so giggle all you want. I just made her daily salary in the 30 seconds it took her to give me the coins. :)

I can't believe with all the hype with silver that tellers haven't heard! That was surely a great find for you. Thanks for the info on the banks you get halves from! I don't bank with them but my daughter works for BoA in back office though. Good luck with your searches!

Found 7 40% halves, and a 63 Franklin in one box last week.

I would have expected to find at least ONE 40% by now in all of the boxes I have bought. Good finds on your boxes everyone!

Just an FYI to everyone out there. I know that people are still finding the occasional good coin(s) in boxes, but thought I'd share a bit about my conversation with the Brinks man this morning. I have been ordering a box of halves/week for about the past month (I do realize this is only about 4-5 boxes). Anyway, the Brinks guy told me that all of the boxes of halves they have at their storage area have been gone through, and that the only time they ever fill orders for halves is for roll searching. I do realize that people can still drop silver into coin counters etc. and they can end up in a Brinks roll, but to me it sounds like halves are become like quarters (The only time you find them is when they are stolen or mistakenly put back into circulation). I will probably still pick up the occasional box just to look for the NIFC, but just thought I'd share this info with everyone. Guess I'm not going to be able to finish my Franklins from Brinks boxes.

Also, does anyone know, do the "F" & "P" engravings mean anything? I have never seen that before. Love the bicentennial proof.

It looks to me like the F and P were stamped. Not worth anything but face value. Someone playing.

Hit my mini circuit today. Not the best of luck:
Bank 1: $7 - skunk Bank 2: $5.50 - skunk Bank 3: Total skunk Bank 4: $300 in bags - 1987D, BU 1989D & 1999P, 1996 Twoonie and 1976 Mexican Peso Bank 5: $50 - skunk
Shorted $13.10 in one bag but it is working out - was shorted $5.88 two weeks ago but made ~$15 on a bag of pennies with dimes it from same branch. Net loss is like $3.14. The most excitement of the day came from the dump bank - where a woman was very loudly accosting her ex in the drive through! My day wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad! Cheers!

I wouldn't take the word of the Brinks guy as gospel. Even if it is true for that particular depot, it may not be for all of them. Brinks and the others have more than one facility. So whereas you may not ge any silver from Brinks, others might be able to. And I do believe there are several folks that have posted here that they get silver from Brinks. Also, I can't see how it would be profitable for them to search literally tons of halves for silver. They would have to pay someone to do that, and no way do they find enough to make it worthwhile. I call BS.
I spoke to a guy from Wells Fargo a few weeks ago. He told me no one does bags of halves now. Hmmmm, unless everyone here is lying, this guy was full of it. Point is, just because someone works for a bank or a money handling company does NOT mean what they say is always the truth.
We did our two boxes today. My box was full of marked coins. I knew right away it was useless. But the wife did manage to pull a 64 from the first roll. Then she hit the marked coins as well. So two boxes, one 64.
The coin gods are making us pay for the 38D and the several dozen silvers from the last couple weeks.

$800 in halves today gave me nothing at all. I'm picking up 2 more boxes tomorrow. One box is from the same bank I've used for the past 6 months which is a very very consistent Skunk producer, my hopes are not high for that box. I keep using them because it is convenient. The second bank is more of a test. I went farther North of me and ordered a box to see if it makes any difference at all.
