Thanks to all!

Murrellington: I think this is either my second or third 70D, not sure, but I do know it's more than one.

I have yet to find a 70d, how does the rim look? Like a 65-69? Or does it have more orange tint?

akane17;

The 70D looks like any other 1965 to 1969 40% Silver JFK.

Here are a few pics of the one I just found on Thurs.

In Pic # 3, the 70D is the middle coin sandwiched in between a 68D on the left and a 69D on the right.

All 3 look the same. The difference is when I crack open the roll and start extracting any silver, the date 1970 jumps out at me as I'm usually concentrating on any coins dating 1969 and earlier and not expecting to see a Silver 1970's coin since 1971 and later are clad, I tend to forget that 1970 was Silver!

It's a very pleasant surprise!

I just stated 1/2 dollar roll hunting. I got about 34 rolls and have went through about 1/2. So far a 63 Franklin, a 64 Kennedy, and a 67 and 68. 2 90% and 2 40%! Nice find akane17.

I just finished my second box this week. I found 1 1969 and a 1984 gold toned with a small profile of Lincoln between and L and I of liberty and. 1864 between the T and Y. Has anyone found one of these or is this something someone did to the coin? Thanks

4 $500 BB&T Brinks boxes from Charlotte yielded 3 1964 90%s and 4 40%s. Not too bad, hope to get a big hit soon. 3 boxes ordered for this week.

@angel2004
Sounds like an interesting piece - any possibility of a pic? This seems to be the "opposite" to the Lincoln cents with the Kennedy face on them:

Yes that's kind of what its like. Sorry. I don't have access to a computer plus I'm kind of illiterate on how to post a picture any way. I'm on my phone right now sorry but thanks for your reply!

I haven't

JFK-Half-Dollar-Roll-Hunters:-Silver,-Proofs-And-Other-Finds

JFK-Half-Dollar-Roll-Hunters:-Silver,-Proofs-And-Other-Finds found any more silver but I found a 1983 d gold toned coin. One side of Kennedy is stamped 1960 and the other is stamped 1980. Does anybody know the significance of this?

I don't know the significance of the date stamps on that coin but I did find and dump one last week.

did my first box of halves in about a year. not surprisingly it was a total skunk. I did pull a 74 proof and a few NIFCs, but nothing else of significance. it was also my first time pulling marked coins. few of the rolls and coins with sharpie marks on the rim, including the proof. my area is completely picked over. maybe I can try ordering from a different bank and hope that they have a different source than the wells fargos around here, but I'm not too hopeful. i'll continue to hit dimes every now and then but will focus on finishing my nickel set (39d/50d) and cents.

**If anyone is looking to buy or trade NIFC Kennedys, I've got a list in the WTT thread. or just email me with what you're looking for and I'm sure we can work something out...

Skunked on 4 boxes, but am pulling a bunch of beautiful NIFC's these days. Still, nothing beats silver.

Chuckster - great find on the 1970 - I've only found two myself. Nice job also on the 90%'s!

I'm not sure about the bicentenial proof halves. Are they 40% silver or 90%? I got some 76 s proof dcam halves and am uncertain as to the silver content.
Anybody know?
