Nice finds LTM... love the Franklin (hence my photo ID). I hope you continue to find luck, I sure don't have any.
Maybe I need to open another bank account and start ordering/returning there.

amida17 - Thanks, I looked it up and found the same info. Thank you

wrestling_135 - Thanks, I hope the luck continues too. I know not to expect this much silver in each box, but one can hope. =)

Picked up 7 40% silver out of $150 in rolled halves at the bank today. Not bad for 10 minutes of searching.

Boxes number 19 and 20 were unwrapped last night...
Open both boxes and out of the 100 rolls, 39 had coins with markings on the ends. It wasn't looking very good right from the start.
65 rolls in I started smelling something funky...then...then...a silver rim. Amazing how a $4 find can put a smile on your face.
Not the best of days but - 2-67's and a 68.

Went on my rounds at lunch today to pick up my weekly box and any random halves from nearby banks... I saw one teller had a few Ikes in her tray and asked for them. She pulled out one that looked different and said "Is this silver...? Hmmm, 1997, I guess not" and then set it back down in the tray. I said "I'll take that one too" and she passed it over with the rest.

I haven't seen any of the better Chinese fakes of these in-hand yet, so I'm going to withhold judgment on it until I get it back to "the lab". But under the dirt and toning it looks and feels right, though I don't think I've held a ASE outside of any kind of holder.

Only time I got an ASE in circulation was from a bunch of rolled IKEs. I don;t think that's going to repeat itself though.

It's possible she was paying coy, hoping I wouldn't want it. Also possible that she didn't bother to read the back after seeing the date.
