Glad to see some are still finding silver. I'm going through a drought here. Last $1500 hasn't yielded any silver. Part of it I guess...:)

Wow! I can't believe that people are still finding really old halves in circulation. That's exciting. I picked up 6 rolls of halves from my bank and they were all clads. Nothing exciting, but I may start a collection. Besides getting dates for a collection and looking for silver is there anything special in the Kennedys to be looking for?

i finally managed to track down some rolls at a bank near me. I called a Wamu, and they had three whopping rolls. Fine, i'll take 'em. it's raining and I'm bored. Surprisingly, I was able to pull one 40%. Not bad for only three rolls. And I managed to fill a few holes in my folder. This is the first time I've been able to get any rolls out near me. I asked if I could order a box...NO. Lame.

I'd think you need to talk to the vault manager who actually orders the coins and you probably need to be at the main branch when you talk to someone.

i used to work for a bank, we were a fairly small branch, but we never had issues with ordering whatever it was we needed. especially if it was for a customer. maybe times have changed. they said they would order dollar coins, but not halves.

I have to do a little bragging The other day I went to a local bank to ask if they had any 1/2 dollar roll and the teller told me that one of the other girls had a bunch of them and to come back tomorrow when she will be working so I said OK and left this was on a Tuesday. I went back on Thursday and she had 10 rolls, cool I'll take them. Well I opened them in the parking lot and found 1-64 and 2-40% that was cool. So I left there and when to take care of my business about 50 miles south of were I was. well on the way back I dumped the 1/2 dollars in a coin machine at a another bank and saw a bank on another corner about a 1/2 a mile down the road and said to myself lets check is one out. The girl behind the counter told me say had a few and asked her how many and she told me that she will have to look in the vault a moment later she asked me how many you want while carrying them to the counter, I said that I'll take them all $130.00 dollars worth well I took them and when to my car and drove off back home. Well the suspense was getting to me because I found a few earlier that morning and pulled into a near by parking lot and started to search the rolls. First roll was nothing and the second the same the next one had a 90% silver Cooool! the next one had two 40% thinking that was great well the next one was a big surprise it was all 40% silver boy was I happy. well the next roll was a bust who cares. Well when opened the next roll my eyes nearly popped out of my head ALL 40% silver well I nearly pooped my pants. I quickly opened another roll again 40% and another 40% well by now I needed an new pair of pants. out of 13 rolls 6 wore 40% silver and I got 3 90% and $59.00 face value of 40%. This was the best I have ever done, some one must have been saving this for years. Thank You who ever you are. Image: HPIM1373.jpg101.19 KB

Yes the ones on the table are the 40% silver and the 3 on the side line are 90% and the bagged ones are clad. Sorry about the pic I don't know how to post the pic where you can see it with out clicking the link.
