16 90% is a score and a half.
I have found two 40% dumped collections around 200 coins each, but never more than a handful of 90% at a time.
That other search picked a bad bank to be his dump bank.

I have thought of playing a little cloak and dagger and finding out where his main bank is and setting up an account just so I can make it my dump bank to give him back all of his coins over and over again but that might be going just a little too far! HA

Today while driving my route I stopped by Denny's to get my free grubbins but saw that the line was out the door. I decided I would be generous and pay my mortgage so I went next door to the Wamu to withdrawl some cash and also got 150$ in halves. I scored 6 40% halves and a nice 1980 SBA out of another roll. Then of course I went to Wells Fargo on my next break with the 100$ in halves I brought from home plus the 150$ I just hunted and used them to help pay the mortgage!

You may see a few more 05s...I just dumped a bag of them into the system. Scored a couple bags a while back and pulled a roll of the best and dumped the rest. I think that is happening with a lot of NIFC.

think it may take a year or two for them to circulate from Maine to NC

I made a sweep of several banks today. Only two had any quantity of halves. The first sold me $160 worth which yielded just one 1964 silver coin plus two clad proofs, a 1978-S and a 1999-S. The 1978 coin was probably PF-40 due to wear, with little proof luster evident, so I threw it back in with the rejects. The 1999 coin still looked like a proof with nice cameo contrast, so it's a keeper. At the second bank I scored $80 worth which included a whopping 135 silver-clad coins plus 6 more 1964s. I've cleaned out this bank before, so it goes to show that the silver can come back. This was my best score in quite a while. Worth some fruit, I'd say!

WOW! Great score Jaobler. Almost feels like your robbing the bank, doesn't it? I go back to the same bank where I had a similar score, but no luck yet. I'll keep trying.

A box last week gave me (22) 1964's, (4) 40%, one being a SMS 1966, and (3) NIFC (03&04). This week, only (9) 40%. But after a LONG dry spell, I'm not complaining.

Figured I'd chime in here. Recent finds include 1 1/2 hand rolls with 23 40% and 3 '64s. Over the last two months (approx. $1200 searched, I'd estimate) a count of about 75 40%, 10 '64, two Franklins, and most notably, seven Walkers - five in one batch! (Loose coins/coins in cigar boxes seem to be the best path for finding 90%.) Also scored 118 Ikes at one bank (mostly heavily corroded) as well as another with 20. Not really sure what to do with the Ikes (see my other posts for the relevant thread.) Coin hunting... man, what a feeling! I've been teaching my friends and family about how to identify silver, not only by date, but also by simply looking at the edge, and even the sound of the coin dropping. It's great fun to grab a nice batch of rolls and search through them with my family. And the leftovers - spend em! I managed to spend 5 (non-silver) types of unusual currency at once - $2's, a cull Ike, Pres, SBA, and halves. Too bad she said she was sending them all right back to the bank. If I owned a retail business, I would consider exclusively distributing unusual money for any change under $10. Word would quickly spread of the establishment that gives out "funny money", and the Mint would be paying for my advertising! (end/rant) Unrelated - scored a total of five $2 US Notes in the same time period. Happy hunting!

My turn.
I picked up two boxes and stopped by another bank and picked up eighteen more rolls.
Found 3 Walking Liberties, 4 Franklin's, 6 90% Kennedy's and 84 40% Kennedy's. Also received 1 original (with extremely worn paper wrapper) roll of BU 1990 P and 2 2005 halves.
So far this year I have found 25 90% and 134 40% halves in 9360 half dollars searched.

While not searching through the volume of some of these folks, I'm still having fun. This week picked up 6 rolls, first time I've received machine wrapped rolls...anyway pulled 3 40% this time. I still haven't found any walkers or Franklins as of yet, but it can only be a matter of time!

In boxes of halves, the best that I have found is 5 64s.
