Finished my $334.50 mentioned above. No silver as expected, since teller saiod she searched it. I still haven't found any silver so far this. BUT in this lot, perhaps even better: 73, yes 73 Not issued for circulation, all BU (01P- 15, 04P- 11, 04D- 3, 05P- 30, 05D- 14) Woo-hoo! Teller made a mistake letting these go! Most NIFC I ever got at once previously was maybe 2 or 3- Teller said this was all from one customer- perhaps they bought them from the US mint, took out a few and dumped the rest into circulation? It is also weird that they are mostly 2005, with just a few other dates. I don't understand how that's possible. Also got another 1974D DDO, in really nice condition- this is my third one. Double woo-hoo woo-hoo!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2009 totals Total searched: 680 coins ($340) all customer rolled 40% silver: 0 90% silver: 0 NIFC: 73 (01P- 15, 04P- 11, 04D- 3, 05P- 30, 05D- 14) Proof: 0 Other: 1974D DDO- 1

I picked four boxes of FED wrapped halves from my local bank yesterday with the following results:
Box 1 - 1982 S proof
Box 2 - 11 40% silver
Box 3 - 7 40% silver, 1943 Walking Liberty
Box 4 - 12 40% silver, 1 1964 JFK, 1 1952 Ben Franklin
All in all, not too bad for two hours worth of work. I think I will go for another 4 boxes next weekend. Happy hunting!

Sounds like I better get back to halves again. Haven't had a box in a month. After several and NOTHING, I decided to lay off a while. Congrats to all for your finds!

I run a retail pond supply store and get halves, dollar coins and two dollar bills several times a week to give out in change - several customers have told me they specifically remember me because I'm the place where they get "the weird change", and most seem to like getting something different. Point being, I get to roll hunt about 6 rolls of halves a week for two years now. Never got any Franklins or Walkers, but get about 1 40% per 5 rolls and 1 90% per 10 rolls, and last summer got an entire roll of 68 D's!

Hey all, New to the forum and just recently began collecting. As I have a limited budget to work with I have decided to focus on roll hunting cents and half dollars to fill out sets to start with. I live in a small town and have been purchasing from one particular bank (I have an account there). I have purchased 18 rolls (all customer) of half dollars over the last few weeks. 17 are from one customer-apparently this is his dump bank because he lives in the city about 20 miles from here-from these rolls-0 silver but two were 2005 and one was a 1976s. The other single roll gave up 2 1964, 1 1966, 2 1967, 4 1968, and 3 1969. I have also been around town and picked up all the loose halve from the PO and the local grocery store which also yielded a couple more 1967 halves. So that is where I currently stand in crh. It's been a lot of fun and keeps me out of trouble. Enjoy and good luck!

My teller called me and said someone just dropped off 10 rolls of halves and wanted to see if I wanted them. Heck yeah! So I go pick them up and all 10 rolls were directly from the mint with the mint wrappers on them. 2001-P 1 roll 2001-D 1 roll 2002-P 1 roll 2002-D 1 roll 2003-P 2 rolls 2003-D 2 rolls 2004-P 1 roll 2004-D 1 roll

Picked up 3 more rolls today and 2 were from the dump customer( I seem to have to buy all his rolls before I get to any of the others that might be there because his are on top of the pile). Came up empty on those. The third roll was from a different customer and had 64D hand written on the side. I was so excited when I saw it that when I got back to my truck I flipped open the ends for a peek and saw a 71 on one end and a 74 on the other. When I got home and opened the roll inside were 16 1964D beauties that looked to have been in somebody's hoard for a long while. Even though I am no grader these looked just like they came from the mint-beautiful luster and sharp details, no wear at all! Today was a mini jackpot. I'm going back tomorrow to see if they have any more. Maybe I'll have another YEEHAW moment! Enjoy and good luck.
