Well every bank I go to ask for half's they look at me like I am crazy and say they have none.
I guess when I get back to PA I have to be more demanding especially at my two banks I have accounts at.

What do you do with the $1000.00 in half that you do not want will the bank take these back?

Take them to a different bank, or the first bank might be pretty ticked off and not sell you any in the future.

Quote: It is a small Suntrust bank. Not sure which armored service they use.
ppaw, I must be using the wrong Suntrust branches! Only can find a few NIFC in boxes from them down here.

Florida, Mine were probably just a fluke to get me hooked on searching rolls. I was really disappointed in the last 2 boxes.

I went through a few FED boxes last night and got a walker, 3 90% and 23 40%. A pretty good haul, but the highlight was 4 2009 JFKs. I think someone must have got the p & d set pulled a few and dumped the rest because I got both p & d coins.
Happy hunting!

My first box turned out to be a bust. ZERO silvers of any flavor. 3 NIFC; 2003, 2004, 2006. And one $1 1960 Hong Kong coin. I've had way better luck buying the random loose roll. I'll try another box again, but this first time was most definitely a disappointment.

Has anyone had a problem with ordering fed boxes and when you get them they have been opened and sealed back up on the end? I just got a box like that. No silver is showing on the ends of any of the rolls. Is it possible to request sealed boxes and reject any boxes that have been re-sealed without pissing the bank off.

That box has been searched and bring it back to the bank you got it at. what they did was to give you a box that someone got from them and desided to dump them on you. they know what you are looking for. So bring them back and go to a diffrent bank all together.

Just picked up and searched two more FED boxes, $1000. In the first box I found:
4 40% 1 1982 S proof (excellent condition)
The second box yielded:
3 40% 1 1964 JFK 2 S proofs:1999, 2000
A good FED box seems really hard to come by. You get a few silvers here and there, but not nearly as good as Brinks boxes. Has anyone else noticed this trend? I've been searching boxes for four years now: 2 per week. Within the last year, I've begun searching FED boxes, but just do not seem to have much luck with them. Well, I'm happy to find something at least, but better luck next week!

What is the difference between a FED box and a Brinks box? I was under the impression that ALL rolled coins came through armored car services to area branches. Around here there are three: Brinks, Garda and Dunbar.
