"got 12 40s 3 90s and 1 1933 S! been looking for that coin for yrs!

finally got a little luck for 2012 I guess its true what they say about being in the right place at the right time or in this instance calling at the right time haha!"

Monk,

Congrats on the '33 s!

My teller called me yesterday and said the manager changed the order (again) to come in Friday. Was supposed to come in last Friday and she said, "Tuesday"; then Tuesday came and it was "Oh, sorry...Friday". So I don't know if its honest mistakes or they don't want to do it.

Happy Hunting everyone

PS Got a box o' nickels and 1 indian head, but no date; BADLY worn...someone tossed it back. 1939 and 2 silvers so far.

Went by a bank yesterday at lunch, had never been in that bank before so figured why not. All they had was a CWR of half's which I picked up and scored 1 90% and 1 40%. I have had zero luck with the boxes I have been getting, any and all silver I have found has been from CWR's or loose half's.

1 x 1963 ( Franklin half)
1 x 1966 Kennedy half

LTMets, I haven't touched any halves in a while, I'm holding that skunk streak for now. I said $15,000 is a good enough skunk streak, I need to either wait a while or try a new bank. I haven't had time to get to any new banks, so I will wait for now.

well I'm crossing my fingers, I have 2k coming in tommorrow and if I get skunked again I think I'm going to take a break for a while, too much gas being waisted to make no profit.

Well I did 4 more boxes only found a 1971s proof.
I did find 2 40% yesterday got them from the teller
when I picked up the boxes. I'm having a hard time finding loose halves. The tellers all say the same thing someone ask for them already. there is a lot of people out there hitting up the tellers. maybe that is why there is no silver halves feeding back into the pool and the boxes are coming up with no silver in this area lately, for me anyways.
Well I have 4 more to do tonight and should pick up
12 more tomorrow I hope.
If it does not pick up next week I'm going to go back to pennies for awhile see if I can fill a few more holes
and that is getting harder and harder to do.

wrestling_135 It really blows my mind that you went through $15,000 in halves and found not ONE silver. I think I would move to another state...lol

Box #51

(1) 1964
(1) 1967

Box # 52

(1) 1967

I have tried some dimes, nickels and quarters while waiting to decide what I'll dive into next. But I make way more with my job than I ever could roll searching, unless you're like some of the lucky people on this forum, they would make WAAAY more than me roll searching than I do in my job lol.

Has anyone compared how much silver is found hunting in boxes vs. coin counter bags? I am finally getting enough in "my" money to start buying boxes but some CU's actually have $500 bags and I can only buy about 1/wk.

^ I haven't done this but I have been giving this some thought.

I would talk to the folks at the bank and ask how often their bag of halves gets filled up. If it happens often then a CRH is almost certainly dumping there and the bag will probably not be productive.

If it seldom fills, then you may be on to something. In fact I would expect the bag to be much more productive than boxes because it is the equivalent of customer wrapped rolls or teller tray halves. I would not rely on them calling when it fills, though. Give it some time and then top it off and buy it.
