Ok, here are the stats from the three boxes my godson and I sorted (while watching Disney's "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" from the Chronicles of Narnia).

Box 3
Silver= 0
NIFC= 3

Box 4
1) 1966 AU (bag marks on cheek and neck)

Box 5
1) 1968D AU (bag marks on cheek and neck)

I have two more boxes coming next Thursday. It comes so late in the afternoon that I will just do two so that I can bring them home to sort and then dump the next day. Friday is going to be very busy from moving the rest of my household mess to Garner finally.

Yay!..... I finally found some silver halves! Even if it had only been one silver I would have been happy but two made my day. Especially since I found them in two different boxes while sharing time with my godson. It doesn't get any better than that except if we found more silver.....lol. He helped me open up almost a full box of halves all by himself. He is excellent about not leaving fingerprints and smudges. We had a blast but it is so late here that we had to be very quiet so as to not wake up his mom and younger sister.

He is still out of school because of a virus. Thankfully I must be immune. He got to stay up late and share in my coin fun and we watched a movie that we could both agree on.

Happy hunting every one! There is still some silver out there.

1star, it sounds like you guys are having a fun time. I hope your gs feels better soon.

When I picked my box up yesterday, the mgr told me I would have to pay 5$ per box going forward.

That's banks now. I'll have to try & find another......

Alright, hopefully these images are clear for everyone. I found this in a box I went through last night and I am new to double dies and distinguishing them. Any help would be great. Thanks

Thank you coinKat. He is doing much better today. He is still very excited that we found the two 40% silver halves and in such nice condition. I still haven't gotten a chance to build my light box to get some good pics. Once I get to Garner I will be able to build it. It's gotten to be very tight quarters here. I used to have roam of the whole place but am confined to all my stuff being in one tiny bedroom....Haha. I want my space back....lol. Friday.

Anyway, congrats to all the new finds you all have shared.

LTMets44: I'll take Box 72 for 500, Alex...

1Star: If your GS is sick, might wanna wear a dust mask around the coins, they are covered in germs! I think I got very, very sick around Thanksgiving due to going through a bag of 5,000 wheaties.

sweepa88: It's definitely either a doubled-die, or a machine-doubling coin. Doubled-die would have some value; machine-doubling, from what I've heard, has no added value.

Sweepa- thats Machine Doubling, cause the doubling is shelf-like. look up a pic of a true double die and you will see the difference

Oh and I forgot to mention I found my 2nd Gold Plated Half Dollar -- I had asked when I found my first one if anyone had any ideas to the origins of stuff like this --no replies , maybe this time someone will speak up if they know?

I got $28 in loose halves a couple days ago from a bank. I found 1 silver Kennedy (1964) and 1 Franklin (1954D). I have found silver Kennedy halves loose before, but this was the first time I got a Franklin that was not in a roll.

Gold plated coins are always made post mint. Some are made to be sold at a premium by mail order, home shopping network, and "The such-and-such Mint" type businesses. Some are privately made as promotional items.

I wouldn't approach dimes with the idea that this is normal. I get about 1.33 silver dimes per box. I have 80 silver's from 60 boxes.
