I do not have a 1980-D with no FG. While looking on E-Bay for error half dollars, I saw one listed.

I do not see one listed in the Cherry Picker's Guide, but there are a lot of varieties not listed there.

My posting was a question as to whether anyone had found one. I was not stating I had.

I now have a 1972-D with no FG. It is the first one I have found, and I even examined it with my 30X loupe. I was happy to finally find a decent error coin.

Do any of you guys just throw back in your impaired (clad) proof finds? I am looking for some to fill the holes in my album. I do not want to break open sets b/c I do not want to chance a good proof deteriorating in an album.

Any help appreciated.

Earle42,

Which proofs you looking for,
and what is the policy and process for
selling here on CC?

I got several rolls of heavily or partially
damaged proofs; mostly water type stains.

My Brinks 7-8 Boxes so far:

3 40% halves
1 90% half
1 1987P (BU)
1 1972-D missing FG on the reverse (my first error half)

I also have some nice AU / BU 1976-Ds as well.

I have 12 more rolls to go and am still hoping for more silver or maybe a nice S proof.
Rest in Peace

Is a "no FG" an error or die state?

I have not posted results in a while. Unfortunately, I am not finding as much as I used to. This week I found 13 40%s and a 64' in 8 boxes. About normal these days, almost not worth the gas/hassle to dump.

However, I also this little jewel, my first ever:

JFK-Half-Dollar-Roll-Hunters:-Silver,-Proofs-And-Other-Finds

A little dancing fruit is in order I believe. For years I have toyed with buying one of these and just could not bring myself to do it. This one is perfect. It is a low AU or XF, and it has a nice natural brown/purple patina.

Just finished boxes 4 and 5 in 2 weeks. Found 3-40% total. I like halves but if I'd stuck to the same quantity in dimes I'd have about 25 silver dimes or the equivalent of 5-90% halves. Just sayin.
