M0nks and Bernie,

I am in the Western part of North Carolina but very close to parts of Tennessee. I have thought about hopping over to Johnson City, TN and checking out some banks on a day in the middle of the week.

As for my finds, out of 12 boxes so far, my first two were good ones. Past this point, box number six was decent. So, out of the 12 boxes I have done so far, I have only found three decent boxes with silver. If you count NIFCs, I have had average luck on all but the last four boxes which did not yield much.

I do think I have a 2005 die gouge.

Wow, M0nk, my record is 5 in a week, and I couldn't imagina getting a bank to do more.

Is your bank a heavy dump bank?

Does anyone know a good way to unload NIFC's after you have way too many?
I have saved up over $500 in NIFC of various conditions and about $90 in 'S' mint marks that I don't think I want to keep. I also have a couple of rolls of 87's. All pulled from circulation.

I'm tired of storing these and my local coin store isn't going to want to deal with that much at once.

Are there people out there that buy NIFC's in large amounts?

I'm sure this has been asked before but it would take forever to find in the thread.

Bman, I agree with unholyroller, ebay is probably your best choice if your local dealer has no interest. You will do better if you break them up into rolls as suggested. Selling them as one lot might get you more than face, but I am not sure if it will cover your fees (in which case, dumping or spending them would be better).

Seems like the NIFC are fun just to collect and have. Not worth much to anyone except us, and maybe a collector who doesn't want or have time to search.

I'm gonna keep a roll of us, which I'll constantly upgrade.

Best of luck to M0nk and all searchers !
