I have carried approx 350# on it. The average though is 300# no problem.

Rofl I meant that I thought you found an estimate only of coins in circulation, ie not in private hands

BenjaminsBaby...Welcome. Glad to see you decided to join the forum. All banks and CU's can order half dollars. There is any number of reason they may not be ordering them for you. If you have another PNC or Chase branch that is close, just go there. I know you're hoping someone here can say bank/credit union xyz will always order coin at any of their locations in the US. And someone may say that but the fact is that every town/region is different. Matter of fact, you could ask a different teller at the same banks and may get a totally different answer. I know I have. You'll have to beat the proverbial pavement and ask questions. You can also make phone calls/emails and ask about policy but like I said, one teller may interpret or know policy different than the next. Same goes with your other question. Some credit unions are better and some banks are better. Credit Unions all operate very differently. Some will tell you they only have coin in their bags and can't sell them. Some will sell you bags when they are full. Some may sell partial bags. Some only accept rolled coins from customers. Some will make you unroll it to be recounted before they take it from you. It just depends.

Now if you want to tell exactly where you live, and someone here happens to live close to you, they may give you all their secret tips...or maybe not.

ID be all over that 500$ bill for my personal collection. If anything I would think that could be a quick 75$ flip regardless, or atleast a trade at a coin shop for 2 ounces of silver.

Yeah for me that would of been worth the atm penalty at one of those local banks, if no branch of my bank around.
