You thinking of selling some 40% bish? I was thinking if it hit 45-47$ or so per ounce should be able to get around 13$ per dollar on 40% through provident. 3250$ for 250$ face, sit on it, hope it drops and buy 90% if/when it drops back down to 30-32$.

Thinking about it anyway. I have no plans to sell 90% at this time, and I'm just thinking about the 40% for now.

I finally found a couple silvers. 2 64 halves and a 68D. I haven't been keeping count because it would be too discouraging, but I bet my '90% drought has been around 50 boxes/bags. Probably 20 since my last meager 40% find. It was good to finally break that streak.

Very cool! Was that from one box? I am hoping for some luck myself. I have a box to pick up later.

Boxes 41-42 9/14/12
NIFC
1D................3
3D................1
4D................1
7P.................2
9D................1
8D................1
11D..............1

One very gold/yellow toned UNC 1996P

Totals:
year.........current #..............running total since box 10

72P.............157........................0/2094 DDO's found
72D..............49.........................2/576 No FGs found
73D..............14.........................2/263 DDO found
74D..............17.........................1/268 DDO found
82P................5..........................0/57 No FGs found
83P.............. 35..........................3/307 No FGs found

Wow! Since I did not start these totals until after box 10, effectively I could add another 1500 to the total of 1972s I've been through looking for a DDO. That would be approx. 3600 1972s and no DDO.

So I wonder when I will finally find one of these?

I guess if I had not yet found a 74D DDO and two 73s, I would not be so surprised.

Grr, some fool has been spray-painting their culls in powdery neon-orange. Nearly 1/3 of them were marked this way in my last box, and as one can imagine, not a scrap of silver. I'm going to have to keep a close tally to make sure that stuff doesn't flake off and gunk up the coin counter.

I did, however find 5 NIFCs (2003-P, 2005-P, 2006-D [that someone MARKED :-|], 2010-P and my first 2012-P).

I also found a 1991 that looks like it came right from a mint set (very strong rim, full strike, shiny). A 1972 that is the right weight, but it rings higher, and the copper layer looks thinner (might want to get that one looked at). And a 1971 that I think missed the upsetting mill. I'll post pics later.

I still cannot find a 1982-D to save my life.

BOXES 513-516

one box was a very strange mix.
lots of nice coins like out of a collection, and many with the reeds rusted out and toning blue. but the coins were in perfect condition.

finding this one made my day so I ordered 4 more boxes for next week.
I have dropped from 12 boxes a week because of the volume dump problem and as of last week, almost every teller and manager at my branch has transferred out. I'm already having problems with the new manager now and have to start over building the relationships like I had before. but that will soon be over, I will explain in my next post later on.

Same here in NorthWestern NJ: many coins have been spray painted either orange or green!

Just because the half wasn't silver, it's possible this knuckle-head is ruining a more valuable DDO / DDR etc!

Totally ridiculous to deface so many coins!

Your New jersey guy with the orange is doing upwards of 80 boxes a week. He dumps 10,000$ of it in atlantic city, weekly. I read this info on another message board.

If I ever meet this punk face to face, he might find me armed with a can of orange spray paint...

... Ok, fantasy over with.

I'm still irked beyond measure. He's basically ruined a hobby that I share with my daughters because of his greed for silver, and is probably gunking up coin counters all over the state.

There has to be a law against marking coins on this scale.

We're probably going to be sticking to nickels from this point on.
