just finished rolling up all the 2001's and 2008's I found in 2 boxes this week. almost all were untouched and must have been new mint bags or rolls they used to top off the boxes.
tossed out all the coins that didn't look like new, and ended up with exactly...
21 rolls of 2001p 21 rolls of 2001d 5 rolls of 2008p 5 rolls of 2008d.
the 2008's are what I am always running low on, so I will take this as a sign to continue on with the hunt. the 2008's are almost as good as silver to me and brand new ones, even more so.
i will be back on Friday with 8 box totals. good luck all.
BTW nice finds this week. congrats all.

Nice coins as always bish. Let me know if your running low on any years of nifc. IV got 90$ right now, been more selective also and what gets kept. Got 2 beutiful rolls of 2011's.
Good luck to everyone this week as well. I'm hoping my wife can get that box today. I have to go to my friday pick up bank today, as "good news" she said someone brought in 1000$ last week, so I most likely have a redump to deal with.

bishftl The mint sold the 2008 Kennedy halves in $100.00 bags 5 rolls of the d and 5 rolls of the p mint. Someone must have dumped a whole bag properly why you found exactly 5 rolls of each.

Could someone tell me, in hand, how you would tell an SMS from a normal 1966 (1965, 1967)? If someone broke up a set and put one into circulation, how would someone who finds it know it was an SMS?

Someone must have dumped a whole bag properly why you found exactly 5 rolls of each. yeah, I buy them from the mint. what happens is the mint must stop selling coins by certain dates each year, the leftovers are often sent to the fed and distributed into circulation. I thought it was lucky to get 2 boxes together with a whole bags worth. and I didn't even order the boxes, they left 2 extra this week. Quote: Nice coins as always bish. Definitely circulating in NJ! Chuckster, how you making out silver-wise? I'm in central jersey, and the last nine boxes have been pretty ugly, dumps, and any silver I've found has been dirty, and so, missed by previous pickers; can't tell from the rim. Bish, beautiful coins! How can you tell when the 40%'s are SMS? I have some really clean, beautiful 40's, but I can't tell if they are sms or not. your proofs are amazing! Finally, Monks! Nice finds: hokykid5! Williamsonj320: didn't realize you only needed one! coulda helped ya. Fist: is there any way I could speak to them? I would just like to know where they are at so I could understand how the coins are circulating in my area...

The SMS coins are a hybrid between business strike coins and Proof coins. The dies were polished (like Proof dies) but the planchets were not (like business strike coins). The coins were struck once (like business strike coins), not twice (like Proof coins). There is a broad range of stikes on the sms coins. some look like normal proofs, some having cameo, and others look just like business strikes. The sms tend to have a polished look to them if you look real close but a circulated one would be hard to tell. i have found that the reeds on many of the sms coins have a gold/brown toning to them instead of the stand-out white edge. here's a few I have that are obviously sms, even a couple cameos, but I can still pick them out of rolls when I find them.

Just came home from vegas and was curious about half dollars from the casino , so when I was cashing out at the cashier asked them if they have sealed rolls of half dollars and if I could pick some up . he mentioned they were sealed so I bought 4 just to test and see if they were re wrapped from the black jack tables or newly delivered .anyway nothin of interest in them rolls , anyone have luck ever getting rolls from casino cashiers..
also was curious if anyone has heard this line before . my family owns a few retail stores so I figured our business bank would have no problem ordering me halves as the other bank I use here takes about 3 weeks to get 2 boxes, anyway I was called back and told they already ordered there coins for the whole year . not sure if they just dont want to deal with it or if that is how some banks order coins anyone ever hear that before
