Agree with Bish... If my bank doesn't already have a box on hand for me, I can have one in a week.
BTW Bish, the reverse of the Bicentennial might be the most perfect photograph I've ever seen. Beautiful!!

Agreed, I have never heard of a bank ordering a years supply at once. In fact, from a monetary logistical view it does not even make sense.
I think they just did not wish to order you halves. As with some banks, maybe they got burnt from another searcher and assumed you would do the same. Hard to tell with banks any more.

@Halfhunter,
I will try to make sure to stop by that bank later today and see if I can buy a few rolls of dimes or the like.
I do not think I have saw Dunbar at any other bank in my area. I have saw mainly Brinks and Wells Fargo so when I saw a Dunbar I took notice and now just have to go in and find out if they have halves. If not, I will get dimes. If I have any luck I will post back.

I disagree Maui, since I assume they order via slow boat, one very large order makes sense. Even if they have a local carrier hold it for a while. Look at your local frb branch website for HI ordering protocols if you want to know for sure

Good luck Ken Scott, thats a great scouting method your going to use. Hopefully you get machine rolls, If you know the rolls of the other armored services in town, You will find out if they service that banks coins or were just doing a vendor drop off.

BernieZ:
Not too good lately.
8 box totals weekly have been low.
I just keep plugging away, sooner or later I'll hopefully nail another "Monster Box!"
Good luck!

Went through someone elses dump but the missed a 2011 and a 1971 proof. To be fair the proof looks like it has been sitting in circulation since its minting.
