I walked into a bank today to see if they had any bags of cents, nickels or dimes. Fortunately the did not have any. They did say that they had a bag of half dollars. I someone uses that as a dump bank, but I thought that I would look for DDO's. I did find four decent NIFC's but no DDO's. I did find one silver half dollar. It is a nicely toned 1936 Delaware Tercentenary! It so odd finding it that I originally though that it was a foreign coin. Sorry no pics, to lazy to get out the camera. Classic silver commems are very rare to find, congrats.
16 boxes of halves this week gave up 2 90%ers and 14 40%ers, rough. Did score about $6 in 40% out of teller trays yesterday. Got 6 boxes to pick up on Tuesday, then 6 Wednesday, 4 Thursday, 8 Friday, and 8 Saturday... Busy week ahead, hopefully this storm doesn't screw everything up.

Picked up 2 boxes from my old bank Friday afternoon. I haven't picked up Halves from them in quite a while. I have been searching Nickels lately. Here are the results: 14 40% (3-1966, 3-1967, 4-1968, 4-1969)  3 90% (1-1962, 2-1964)  3 Proofs (1-1971, 1-1979, 1-2002) Forgot the take a photo of the 2002)  All of the silver came from Box 1. I am going through the rest of them looking for errors. If I find anything I'll post it later. I'm going back next week and get 2 more boxes. Good luck to everyone next week. |

so the lady at my bank today tried to tell me that there is a $5 charge on every box I order. needless to say you will be getting dumped on now! very rude, I think more and more banks "know whats going on".

it's not that they are just figuring it out, it's the amount of customers who are coming in every day asking for them.
many banks have accounts where you are allowed up to $xx.xx amount per month of free coin orders. setting up a business account is the first place to start.

I haven't had any extra cash lately, so I've been sorting more pennies - BWR's and CWR's, but also found a dealer who sells me 2006 OBW's for only $1 - been finding alot of fun stuff and even sold a DDO for $40 @Bish - how did you only have to pay $0.50 to get your rotated rev graded? Freebies with some sort of membership? Is it worth doing? I have a couple Kennedy DDO's that should grade MS63+ all very low pop coins (in higher grades) from what I've researched. Would you recommend NGC? What would you normally pay for a variety (not error) to be graded? Also... congrats on the sale - I know that made your day. |

i had free grades for 5 coins. I actually had to pay the $12.00 mint error fee, but that cost was well worth it. I made 3400% what I paid total for the coin and slab. and I still have another medallic rotation sitting next to me.
a bit more circulated but rare nonetheless.
NGC is a bit cheaper than PCGS, and I've heard that they are not as good as they used to be. I believe that because the 2 Accented Kennedys I sent in came back without that designation. had to send back in for re-slab. no charge but an inconvenience, especially when they say that is the first thing they look for when grading 1964's.
all varieties and mint errors are $12 additional to the $14 for pre-1955 coins. you should really know what you have when sending a coin in. I got back a couple with really disappointing low grades on them and they were brand new proofs.
also the PCGS values guide has some major $$ differences on a lot of coins. I think after my NGC acct runs out next year I will switch to PCGS.

i sold a DDO 1964 proof MS66 and didn't think to check the registry and turned out to be POP 1/1 for that grade. i think I could have gotten triple what I sold it for. very upsetting but I learn as I go. |

Skunked, but go figure the odds of this... while pouring halves into the coin machine, I found an MS60 1964 Washington quarter in the coin reject bin. I feel a little better now! |

After all the trouble I had turning in my halves to my CU, I figured I might not pursue as many.
In fact, I have not really done any boxes since my issuing bank stopped ordering (cited costs as reason).
So, one of my CU branches was more than glad to give me $450 in CR dimes this past Friday. Found a 1946 and 1964 along
with 4 clad Canadians and an extra .40 to boot. May primarily target dimes for a while and halves as I can find them.

My local bank called me the other day. They had a dump from a charity and their machine kicked out a bunch of goodies including these two,   I got the for face value along with 10 others. Also picked up 2 SBA's and some SAC's |
