good luck to all.

I used to find silver in the banks but not anymore
all the tellers here are wise now. I had one very arrogant head teller tell me once "all the silver that comes in this bank is mine" I told her is that anyway to treat customers,I think it ticked her off.
A Lot of the Well Fargo branches here used to have coin machines and I believe that is how a lot of the silver got mixed into the pot. But they are all gone now and a lot of the silver is going to get grabbed up by the tellers now
when customer bring in their rolls.

Picked up 6 rolls from my credit union. Scored two 1968d half dollars. My first silver from halfs in quite a long time.

Solid 64 roll (CWR) from bank!
And a 68 from the tray!

I posted a thread about it, but I felt it belonged here to, since this is the main collection of halves finds :)

Took some time off, because the well had run dry for silver and Hurricane Sandy kept us busy. But, first box in awhile yielded four 40%ers. That feels like a lot!

Went to the bank to get a money order for a coin I bought. Saw a silver edge so I bought the 3 half dollars from the teller tray. Got a 1964 d out of it. Not bad.

It's been pretty tough for me with halves lately. It's been 12 to 16 boxes since finding any silver halves. It's actually been over the last 3 or 4 weeks and doesn't include many lose tray attempted snipes that have failed as well. I guess I can't complain because the 1881 3 cent'er makes up for quite a few skunk boxes, no matter the denomination. I have 4 boxes this week. Hopefully my half dollar luck will change.

Did my first box tonight. Not a great box but since I am new I am filling holes in my Dansco so at least I was able to do that.

No Silver

Did find a 2009-p NIFC

Over 20% of my box was 1776-1976 bicen halves. Is that relatively large or pretty common? Seemed like a ton as I was opening them.

Also found two weird 1977's with gold plating and counter-stamped on the front with 1960 on one side and 1985 on the other.

I found them in totally different rolls (half a box apart) so that was interesting.

Hopefully better luck next box.

Well, it's a common year because it was made for two years. Sometimes though, someone will dump some bicentennials that they were hoarding. Oddly, There is a small premium growing in bicentennial quarters but I have yet to see ANY in bicentennial halves. Usually they are just an annoyance for CRH because sometimes you get large loads of them like that, sometimes more!

Stopped at the bank for my normal box of dimes but for some reason I asked for halves. She found $400 and offered to order me another box for thursday.
I'm crossing my fingers for a bit-o-silver!
