Anybody know where these are coming from? I know where SM is... I'm curious if they are coming from far away.

My bank manager told me he used to see SM all the time in SCal. CRH are from my area in San Diego. He started making trips up your way to dump because he was getting back all his own dumps here. You should be seeing plenty more of those. never seen the other before.

I have talked to SM and CRH before... I dont know who the other is. Its funny I see CRH's stuff all the time and then find 2 or 3 64's in the box.

I wonder how many coins are in circulation at any given time? Looking at the stats in the signature of bishftl made me wonder what the pool of them is for searching.

Also, bishftl, how long has it taken you to search 561K+ coins?

Thanks.

I sort 10 to 15K a week of halfs... I saw this post on another website to help put things into perspective.

"4,233,725 40% silver Kennedy half dollars (1965 - 1969) would still be left in circulation if 99.5% of them have already been found and/or melted.

Four million, two hundred and thirty-three thousand, seven hundred and twenty five."

those stats are for just over 1 year. I was shut down in September by a new bank manager who refuses to order for me anymore. I had no problems prior to his arrival. hoping he transfers out soon.

You guys in San Diego do alot of coin, that's 5 guys I have heard of that do volume out there... I have been looking for someone local to chat with - can't find anybody. The good thing about L.A. is there seems to be alot of turnover here. I marked coins when I first started... I have never seen them since and I do (I think) a fair amount of volume.

So I was going to the bank to get some nickels and I asked the teller if he had any halves. He said no. I was about to leave when a lady told me that she had a bunch of halves that she was gonna dump and that I could have a look through them. I looked through the halves and got myself 2 1961-D Franklins and a 1967 40%!

Wow. Over the past year, I've only gone through 87674 halves! I feel like a lightweight.
