Guys-
I just got back on here and no I'm not retired. My one bank wants to charge me now and that cuts out about 20 boxes. And this is making tired anyway.
The bank that I had been getting Brinks from has been getting me 4 boxes a week for about the last 3-4 weeks and I've been getting skunked pretty bad.
On Tuesday though one box had a 40%er.
2 boxes were skunks.
The first box I opened though had 7 40%ers, 1 1964,1 1952 and 1 1776/1976S
2 brilliant 1970Ds
and 6 what I believe to be Franklin proofs I don't know how to tell.
But they are thick and have a polished finish.
They are
1961P x2
1961D
1963D
1963P
1957P

Welcome to skunksville. I got skunked this week on my Fed box. It had the yellow and white wrappers so I was initially happy to that. It seems like a lot of people are hitting a dry spell right now.

yotie-
So what do you think these coins are? Just uncirculated? Or could they have been removed from a mint set? Or aren't there any D mint sets either? I don't know as much about it.
I do know that the 1970D is a NIFC and there were 2 of those in the same box with the really bright Franklins.

I looked through 5 boxes this morning and got
1- 1967
1- 1968
1- 1969

Don -
Nice haul on your boxes! How much does your bank want to charge you per box?

This was a knew bank for me and I opened an account there and they ordered alot of boxes for me. Then they suddenly told me that they can't order anymore. I had the manager give me a call and he said they will order for me but at 9 cents a roll which is $4.50 a box.
That's too much because if I get 10 skunk boxes I'm out $45.00.
The funny thing is the other branch of the same bank is still ordering me 2 boxes a week for nothing. And as long as it stays that way I'll keep my account there. The location that wants to charge actually offered to order unlimited amounts at first and it makes me wonder if they did it intentionally to now just try and make some money off of me.

its possible there reserve bank had run out of halves and would have had to place an order with the fed to get your coins.

That is surprising they would begin to charge for the boxes, I would just keep ordering the 2 boxes a week from the other branch. I think it depends on the management per branch, some will charge for for various services and others will not dare to offend a customer by charging for small fees. Anyways, keep searching

I'm not surprised, With the amount of boxes he's been going through every week. Banks are in business to make money, and they have to pay a surcharge over the face value of coin themselves. And the dump bank has to pay to ship the halves out. If he is using the same bank to purchase halves and dump the halves (even if it is a different branch) they may have the same District Manager and the word could have gotten around. I'm not saying I agree with the banks decision to charge him, I'd be miffed too! I'm just saying I'm not surprised.

I tend to dump my halves in a different state to avoid ticking of the district managers. I actually had one tell a branch not to give me anymore coins. Needless to say I use that branch as a dump bank now.

Searched two FED boxes last night and found:

2 Walkers - 1918 and 1945
1 Franklin - 1958
19 40% silver
1994 S proof
1987 P
Various NIFC

Not bad, will search two more boxes today and post the results.

Congrats on the 1918! I've only had 4 Walkers and they were from the 40s.
