8 boxes tonight. 3 of them were String boxes mixed in with the normal Loomis.

In the String boxes I found 6 40% over 2 of the boxes, a lowball, half a sticker coin, and a few NIFC.

In the 5 Loomis boxes I found a few NIFC, 1 40%, another BB'd half, another holed, a half with solder on the reverse that I know I have seen in the last 2 weeks I just have to go back and find the post, another one fo the large cents to go with the rest of them piled on my desk at work.

But I think I will stick to finding the Barber instead. I still am on a high from this. Now when I go through another 100+ boxes do I get to find another one - or will it be a seated Liberty next time?

Hey man, I am rooting for you to find the seated liberty, you already have the barber, go for getting one of each!

Love that barber, wish you the best in finding that seated liberty, and when you do, post it here with the barber again.

Two boxes of pure skunkatude, except for a 2005 proof that must've just been taken out of it's holder.

for silver found as a percentage of coins searched I am doing better just asking tellers if they have any loose half dollars in their tray, and then taking them all. Last five requests that had some halves yielded five 40% and 1 90% out of about 25 dollars of halves with two requests resulting in no halves at all. I usually don't do that good searching a whole box!

Thanks everyone for the congrats on the Barber. I actually do have a friend who was roll searching a LOT of halves each week when silver was close to 50.00 an oz. He did find a seated - and a Bust half! But he also was the one who had the bank tellers give him a call to get down to the bank. Someone had obviously dumped a collection - he got a compete set of BU Franklins, some solid date rolls of wheats and buffalos (with the date written on the outside) including a couple rolls of 1909 VDB wheats. So I have to wonder if the seated and bust were not part of all that dump.

I've found a few halves from tellers recently, but no silver. The good thing is, most of the tellers are young and many don't even know what a half dollar is. This happened to me the other day. They said they had a few halves, and handed me 2 Ikes. I then explained the difference, and they gave me 2 halves.

this is good for us!

This is the first off center error I found. Do you think I should get if graded? Also found one Obama half. the year is 2001 they should have used pre 70 halfs.

Just peeled my first box this morning.
No silver at all and every third coin or less was a '71 followed by a bi.
Lots of really nice '95's and '00's and one pretty nice '07.
Sort of dissapointing, but I get a feeling someone had looked before me and maybe missed the '07.
I have one more box so holding out hope. I think I will try the asking for loose ones next.

I went back out yesterday late afternoon for some empty rolls and decided to ask at a few banks.
I think I hit 70% of our local banks for a total of about 25 dollars with one '67.
The last one I checked said, yes we have plenty.
They had $154 and the 150 were just brought in by a customer. I asked. One nice teller said, "I don't know what he does with them, he just buys them then brings them back in." so I passed, lol.

6 boxes of halves yesterday. The 4 boxes I had from Saturday had 6 40%ers and a few NIFC.

2 boxes from Monday gave up a 1987 proof about 30 seconds after I told myself "I haven't seen a proof in like 10 boxes straight". A few more NIFC and what appear to be a silver plated 1972D.

4 boxes still sitting at work waiting for me to go through them.
