ohhh, very nice album / slab toning. Good strike, clean cheek but with the field chatter I'd say it tops at 64, no shock at 65 though... I'll come back to it for vamming after my coffee but I think I'll start with VAM 41...

It's near-impossible to draw conclusions from a coin still in the flip - they hide the subtle differences between slight circulation and Uncirculated - but given the relative lack of marks one would lean Mint State.
I have to ask, Cascade: how did you reach 41? The only available detail for that one is on the chin, not even a die crack or full-face image to look at, and this one doesn't have that detail on the chin. I'm asking to help improve your research process, because you're obviously all-in with this VAMming stuff.

Hadn't had my coffee yet SD and I have a 41 I attributed a few weeks ago. I just saw the area where the neck meets chin. I wasn't saying it was, just that I was going to start there but you're very right about the lack of VW detail for 41. I have since exempted it due to op's mm tilted right not left though.

I'll post my 41 in grading. Maybe it can update VW?

Quote: I have since exempted it due to op's mm tilted right not left though. Idle question - what do you use as "vertical" to determine tilt? This question is as much for the audience as yourself.

There's not much ink in the 04-O listings for mm tilted right and it does appear so.

I mentally draw 2 lines coming down from either side of the bow knot which gives me a parallel "grid" to determine orientation. Am I doing it wrong?

I clicked on this thread ... Because I purchased a 1904O yesterday. I could say ... I grade yours better than mine But more serious I agree that it is hard grading from pictures .. Harder when coin is still in the flip. Your coin does look to have very few hits or rubs. My spin on theVAM, this is one of those coins that has so little die problems, that I never figure out the VAM. To me it looks like a early die stage. No die cracks Normal position date All the stars and lettering look complete and not doubled "In God We Trust" looks problem free No die clash No expert of VAM's ... For me if the coin does not have those issues, I have no hope figuring it out

Here she is outside the flip. Any suggestion on what I should have paid, I had a bit of buyers remorse as I left the LCS, but I think she is very pretty.
