You are dealing with a potential $4000+ coin if legit.
Don't mess.
Send it straight off to PCGS or NGC.

Vf25/30.... Maybe has had an old cleaning, too.

Needs to be third party graded to realize real money.

Nice!

The images are large enough to come up with a rough grade, but not to authenticate and that is always the first concern when evaluating an 1893-S. The coin presents the appearance of VAM-2 with the far date and tilted mint mark, a good thing, but certainty is not possible.

Morgan dollars can be collected by variety, and these are called VAMs after the gentlemen who started the codification process, Leroy Van Allen and A. George Mallis. The 1893-S, being the low-mintage Key to the entire Morgan series, has only two designated VAMs. Only a single obverse die was paired with two reverses for the entire mintage. Here's some reference:

I like the link you posted for the authentication of 1893-S, Dave. It is much more compact and to the point than the VAMworld listing.

This coin needs to be sent to PCGS or NGC right away. Spend the money to do this simone1978.
To me, it appears genuine but this particular coin is King to the series and one that needs to be in one of their holders for a couple important reasons.

They're both so rare that the difference between the two varieties doesn't affect value.
