14kt gold LT coins in stock at CA for issue. https://www.colonialacres.com/produ...watch-144989Looks like many returns, listings without bids etc. So...if it appears there, the message is clear: "nothing is special in the coin, return it and save the money for coming 2015 Superman release"

Quote: do they always mint that many 20/20s? They were usually in the 200k - 250k range. Not sure if this is the first time they've done more than that or not.

For the Superman coins, even the 500.000 mintage will be good.
The $20for$2o inexpensive coins, likely will be grabbed in quantities by army of S-man fans.

I received my gold looney tunes coin today and it looks like I will be already returning it. As you can see in the photo, there is a noticeable scratch on the coin near the "1" in the 100. For a $900 coin, this is unacceptable. Instead of getting a replacement, I will be getting the new gold superman coin coming next month instead I should work for RCM quality control considering they couldn't even spot such a noticeable flaw before shipping out the coin...

WOW - I had no idea there were 350k of the BB. The RCM must think there is a huge market for them. Ordered an extra one for a special newborn gift, otherwise I cut my subscription down to 1 as they are too hard to dump later.

when I received my 20/4/20's my wife asked "What's up with that?.... Did the mint run out of things to put coins?"

Is it a scratch or Struck through wire?

Is the scratch "raised" or into the metal. It almost looks like the die was scratched vs. the coin, but it's tough to tell from the image. Can you provide a close-up image of the defective area?

@darryldarryl and @commems
The scratch was deep in the coin and to the left of the scratch there was some other small damage. I unfortunately returned it already so I can't provide any closer pictures but I believe you are right commems, it looked like the die scratched the coin. At first I thought it was a hair inside the capsule so I opened it and tried to remove it but it didn't come off.

Since the birds are now being sold separately - does anybody know whether the 4-coin looney series to be broken up - minus the watch ?

They always seem to break up sets/subs if they are not selling well, so ya most likely they will be offered as singles at some point.
