Check out this ebay auction for a 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent as well as silver dollars and gold dollars.

The 1909-S VDB is an oversized replica, the "gold" dollars are Presidential dollar and the "silver" dollars are Susan B. Anthony dollars.

The amazing thing is this auction received 28 bids from six different bidders (maybe a shill in there?) and sold for $455!

All this from a seller with "0" feedback.

There isn't an emoticon to cover this situation. Hopefully they return it and let ebay know because the seller has no feedback and so ebay holds the money until the person at least gives feedback so that hopefully new sellers aren't ripping people off. I'm not good with foreign coins but I do see what looks like some silver but idk about the gold . For all I know it could be worth it. But idk those coins in the last couple pictures.

Winning bidder has 364 Feedbacks. Taking a NPB for the team, so nobody throws away their money.

This is what it's costing us these days.

Notice the first bidder bids $5, and then goes to $100 through the course of several more bids.

Reminds me of back when the game Flappy Bird got taken down off the app store and people went straight to ebay and sold their iPhones because society was so addicted to it.

ebay handed out so many bans after that. It still goes on.

Fake accounts.

perhaps the huge 1909 s vdb is the key to the coaster series?

He may have only bid once, and ebay did the rest as the next bidder went up the chain to find out where the last one's overbid stopped.

No the time stamps on the bids indicate these were individually placed bids not bids plced by the ebay proxy bidding system.

This could be a few things.

A simple case of just how stupid some people are that know nothing about coins.

Shill bidding coupled with bid fever.

The high bidder sees something so obvious we are all missing it.
