A lot of you seem to like the clashes.
I also posted some under Classic Errors and Varieties and Canadian.

May no clash go undiscovered!

I have to say I really appreciate and enjoy both of your photo examples and knowledge you've share with us all.

No doubt helps educate as well as inspires collectors new and old, for generations to come as well.

Thanks, Doug.

I have one of those 2000-P "superclash" nickels. These nickels also appear to have been struck on abnormally hard planchets, which would explain the coarse, poorly-struck center of each face. The press operator might have cranked up the ram pressure to compensate, and this might have contributed to the strength of the clash.

It's an informative site BJ - I enjoy visiting when looking up specimens or reading up on cause-and-effect details. And the pictures, here and there, remind us of the possibilities.

Full, reciprocal design transfer is very rare in clashes. In addition to the 2000-P nickel, there's a 1912 Barber half, and a British bimetallic 2 pound. Also some Argentina 10 and 20 centavos. In addition to a powerful impact, you need a pair of die faces with little or no convexity.
