What are the dots on Lincoln's suit coat?

I see brush marks in the fields, so maybe the coin was struck through some leftover debris.

This was the end coin and the obverse was showing. I think the dots just dirt or something

Here are a couple of close up images of the spots on Lincoln's jacket. After taking a closer look, just looks like typical end coin damage to me
