is this a Die Deterioration?
Double die?
Double struck?

Two out of three or all above?

however, its only at the bottom of the letters, why?

Yes, there is clear doubling on this coin. Although what seems to be occurring around the "A", "E", "L" and "R", seems to be Die Deterioration.

I'll say Die Deterioration. For some reason this happens faster (or more obviously) the nearer to the die edges than on the center.

I'm going to give it a whirl here and say you have a bit of both going on. Some Die Deterioration Doubling along with some slight Machine Doubling and you can get this effect. I will let someone else chime in who is more affluent in foreign designs.

I also go for Die Deterioration..
I've seen this a lot on Spanish coins from 1975 til +/- 1983

I don't have much experiance with coins from Israël, but I have a jar on my desk waiting to be examed.. After work today i'll start searching them for 'errors'.. Maybe I find something the same..This topic has given me want to get started. .Year determine kept me earlier against. .

I would think Die Deterioration as well.

Kinda looks like Longacre Doubling.

Hello all, at a closer glance, I was trying to determine a flawed blanchet. If you see the field of the coin, it has two raised inner ring-line impressions that line with the "ISRAEL" via bottom of the letter that caused the appearance of a Die Deterioration, doubling and or Longacre Doubling.

If it weren't for the inner rings this coin wouldn't be that interesting to me personally. Thanks for your input all.
