... I noticed a coin on the floor near the customer coin counting machine. I figured it was a rejected foreign coin.
My mistake...
... a Washington quarter.

Did the machine really reject it?
Was it worth picking up?
YEP! A 1964.

Nice find. Surprisingly, I have found 2 silver quarters in circulation (63-D and 64-D) but no other denominations.

Nice find. I think the best bank story I have is I was at a teller window and heard silver hit the counter two windows away. I know all the tellers and take them breakfast about once a month. I looked at the teller in the window and she looked back and smiled. When that customer left I walked down to that window and she had 2 40% and a 90% Kennedy halves waiting for me.
