Found one in a roll today, not sure if it's really worth much more than .50 but it came just in time to give to my daughter for her birthday!

Anyone know how common these are? I'm sure they aren't super rare considering nobody at the bank noticed it.

It is almost certainly plated. Worth exactly $0.50 to most foiks on this forum.

I received a gold-plated SBA from the bank a couple months ago. Fun find regardless and one I'll probably put in a blank hole in my SBA album.

Oh, to the forum! I hope you enjoy your stay.

It's most likely plated. Nice find though.

I hope your gift encourages your daughter to pick up the hobby. That would be way cool.

Plated novelty item, probably from a promotion or like the modern plated materials, sold to unsuspecting people for a premium.

No premium value other than being an interesting find. If you daughter likes it, then it is certainly priceless.

Well, there was a gold Kennedy half dollar sold by the mint last year. At some point in the future at least one will get accidentally spent.

If I had a couple more zeroes on the end of my fortune, I might buy a roll's worth and spend them on purpose! :)

I received a few of these through intense roll searching, as in $1000 a week for a year.
