So I posted this over'ta the ancient/medieval coin forum... I thought it was Spanish!

What do these bring these days? anyone? I can't find any in this condition from recent auctions.

No idea but you might want to inquire about conserving your coin.

Rackster I don't think there's enough there to conserve! I mean at best it's a G coin. That said though even those in older auctions bring $200 bux or so. I'm just glad I didn't toss it over in the scrap pile. The bust on the obverse, for some reason looked Spanish to me; ditto the seated... whatever she is. Anyway, it's cool to find such as this in all the things I've horded over the years.

Soak it in olive oil for a couple of weeks and see what happens. I'll try to attribute the coin either later today or tomorrow morning. There are something like 350 varieties so it may take a bit of research.

yes, attributing it is key to estimating the value. A common coin in that condition might bring thirty or forty dollars, but a rarer one could bring much more.

Well, it is one of the Miller 33 obverses with a Z reverse too many combos for me at this hour..... I will let Celtic call it.

How about Miller 33.2-Z.12 there are so many of those dang Miller 33Z options. They all look the same after 10 minutes.
