Go Dansco ... or go home...

Type-Set-Albums

I know we would all like it if Dansco put out a new 7070.
But older ones can be found, even if they are a little more.

For me .. I have the 7070 ..
But also in the last year or so I have found the older
Dansco albums for Canada, Mexico and Japan type sets.

I like the set up for IS albums, but I have had two of them
and ended up switching to Dansco, because for me I like
the quality of Dansco better.

It is possible to find older Whitman albums. They made a
two album type set, but the coins they put into it would
take deep pockets to complete it. They are a small coin
album and a large coin album.

Just the Half Cent and large cents examples shown below would scare me.

I don't have any pictures of the large coin Whitman album ..
But I think there is a spot for 1796 quarter and the
draped bust Half dollar and dollar.

So, for me .. the Dansco is still the best choice.

I don't have an ASE Littleton album Cascade, just a Type Set and Morgan dollars. The ASE has a rainbow toned edge though!

I'll see if I can get a picture of the toned coins later and post them in either the toned coins thread or here.

Ploopy, do you use the morgan ones, how do they look? Here are pics of my type set. I didn't really take the pics to show off the toning on all the coins though but you get the idea...

Can you post pictures of the album too.

I am curious.

1998 was mentioned ... Is it only Littleton albums from that year?

Yes, the morgans haven't started to tone yet.

That is the exact Type Set album in your thread I have!

GR58, whos album do you want posted?

1998, I'm not sure if that is the one I have. But look in cascade's thread and that's identical to mine.

My Seated half dimes and dimes have turned a nice dark shade of blue.

my album says 1999-2007 for the years, so I think mine is a bit more new.

It appears that the Littleton LCA14 is hard to locate as well as the 7070.

Thanks

It looks like that albums has pretty much the same coins as
the 7070 Dansco.

Is there any chance that it is just how these albums were
stored that might have made them tone, or it is just
the album.

Edit ... I do like those information pages, between the coin
pages.

They were stored in a bedroom closet in a semi desert environment. non smoker. There a chance environment had a little part in it I guess but Id say it's a safe bet these albums rock for imparting color. Especially with ploopy confirming.

Oih8, can you find an ASE one?
