My first Trade dollar. I purchased it for my type set. Its certified but I would like your opinion on it before I reveal the grade.

Not that high, although I wish it was. Its in an old ANACS slab. I really liked the color, most of the Trade dollars I came across were toned dark.

I see a few minor scratches and some possible light wear on the legend, I would say AU.

Very nice addition to your type set

I don't see any obvious wear, just some slight dullness in the fields that I suppose could be from friction. Liberty's breast doesn't look worn. There might be a touch of wear at the top of the eagle's neck but the rest of the feather detail seems complete. Liberty's head detail is soft but that is pretty common even for uncirculated Trade dollars.

This looks like a solid AU-55 to 58; maybe an AU-53 if ANACS was feeling conservative that day. I could imagine many sellers trying to represent this coin as mint state.

I think this is the Type 1 obverse, with only 3 fingers visible on Liberty's right hand. Type 2 (4 fingers) was also used that year. Does anyone know whether either type carries any premium value?

I think I see some wear on her hear, part of her dress in the center and on the eagle's neck. I'm gonna say AU-55, or an AU-58 but I'm slightly leaning towards the AU55. Either way, very nice Trade dollar!

Looks to good to be a AU50, especially the reverse.

Yeah, I'll be cracking it out of the slab eventually. So what the slab says doesn't matter much and from all the opinions, its atleast at AU55.
