Nicely done. I am currently carrying an 1811/0 classic head large cent that has been cleaned in my pocket. It has been cleaned. I'm just trying to improve the color and apearance. Controversial, I know, but if your careful, results are actually very good.

Very interesting results, and well done.
I may try that with an 1796 S-82 that I have with somewhat rough surfaces.

Confused as to why you would even consider this, after paying to have it graded in the first place?

I think you should print a copy of this thread and store it with the coin. Some neat provenance.
