Interesting - still no e-mail on this lol.
So not much change other that a free collector box if you spend over 2k. On 2k in purchases, you could save 200-500$ buying in the secondary market. Some free case.
The exclusive coins are interesting. 3 per year. However, if the are exclusive to MC, will there be demand in the secondary market? I doubt it. And therefore these will not be investment coins. If they are nice coins, they could be good in my collection but I don't think they would have appeal to the masses (i.e appreciate in value).
As for invitations to events: I used to get these all the time. Never went. I really have no interest in meeting engravers or chatting with Mint employees. I prefer to have as few people as possible know that I collect coins. Call me a little paranoid.
Again, I seriously doubt I will qualify for anything after my current MC status expires.

Cases are always welcome. As CC-Ottawa said, even if they will be "for MC only", still will be possible to get them on the sec market, by saving on the coins. So, with or without MC status, this is good RCM MC change. Quote: The exclusive coins are interesting. 3 per year. However, if the are exclusive to MC, will there be demand in the secondary market? The other side of exclusiveness. But the attractive design will help to these coins. Otherwise: Gold-plated with diamonds exclusive and unique Mercedes model - who will be interested except some in Emirates and Russia? ADDED: Thanks to MTS for URL, checked the table with the MC levels and got confused: Do not see a very big difference between Silver and Platinum. The exclusive coins and the case. Not enough. If you want to split the population by levels - make the Platinum feel really on top, make the Silver MC feel happy being above all other non MC, but make him desire to move up and spend more. Why there is no word about "Account Manager" = "Rep" ? Will the reps continue to work with MC and people will receive "Pre-advanced notice"? Payment plan - it do exists for expensive orders (gold coins), but why not on 5oz coins. Many people can't pay $500 in single payment but easy will pay it in 3 payments... again, not enough so many ideas...

No email for me either although when I go to my account profile it shows I qualify for Platinum membership and I am "$2,576.31 away from unlocking Platinum Plus Membership" I didn't see what Platinum "Plus" entails as that 4th level isn't listed. Interestingly enough, in my city here in the U.S., "Platinum Plus" was the name of a "gentlemen's" club which was shut down by police due to numerous indiscretions by the patrons and the dancers!

This is a rephrasing of the old master club system already in place now, someone is buying those kilo gold coins, those are the customers a few super reps are allowing unlimited purchases of popular coins. Now that in recent years nothing is holding their values, the so call revamp is nothing more than a rename, the RCM just doesn't get it, they are simply producing too many useless themed coins.

@elkslayer132 I never lost anything from coins, intact I made money, this platinum MC I have is due to me buying 2 superman 2014 sets $2240, and selling them for $3400 ($1700/set) locally, and then some XforX that I have, or returned to the bank, basically all the coins I own are purchased from profit made from buying coins. Even if I do reach platinum plus, that will be due to superman 2015, I was able to get 2 golds, and might buy 2 silver sets and sell them. I stopped spending money on coins unless its money I earned from selling coins.

price significantly dropped, but the people I sold to, offered me before delivery, and then picked up, at that point a set on ebay was sold for $2100

My guess on those platinum plus members, probably spending 50,000 or more, will a free case make any difference? Within the last 12 months, just my opinion the big coin series will be the only coins holding value from over a coin a day releases. Why would you need these new mc changes?

R4mn33k: Consider this......From a business perspective, is it in RCMs best interest to attract "flippers" (sorry, first description that comes to mind) through their MC program.......by that I mean those who are just looking to turn a quick buck on the secondary market as opposed to clients who purchase because they're motivated in longterm interest in what they collect. Because it seems to me once you're unable to profit, you'll quickly move on. This is generally not the reason companies offer Loyalty Programs and in my opinion, where RCM has gotten out of sync with its primary market.

The Platinum level isn't really that much, as $2000 represents $167/month to attain. With today's prices, that's only 2 x 1 ounce silver coins per month, and if you're buying something a little extra once it a while, it's easy. (at least for anybody with a job). $167 represents less than $6 per day - I know people with a Tim Hortons or Starbucks habit more expensive than that and afterwards... they got nothin'!
